My Question or Issue
Last night, I noticed that all the songs I’ve been listening to kept stopping after 10 seconds. The player indicates that it’s still playing but really, nothing was playing at all on my end. With this, I simultaneously performed a clean reinstall, forced restarted my phone, deleted the app, re-downloaded the app, logged in, and logged out. However, I noticed that the issue got worse; everything wasn’t loading at all. It kept giving me the message “Something went wrong”. May it be the home page, my/Spotify’s playlists, artists’ discography, or even searching for songs —- everything just keeps loading.
I am perplexed as to why this is happening not only because I’ve tried plenty of the “solutions” under such issues but also because Spotify is working just fine on my laptop and my iPad.
Please, I’ve tried all the solutions repeatedly ever since last night. This is extremely frustrating since I’ve used Spotify everyday for over 5 years, and I’ve never faced a problem like this. Please help me 🙏🙏
Update : now even my iPad is not working properly. Just until a little while ago, everything was fine but then, all songs keep stopping after 10 seconds again. It’s supposedly playing but I don’t hear any audio at all.

Since you've mentioned this now affecting your iPad as well, it doesn't sound like it's device-related, and you did say it got worse after installing the latest version, so it might be connected to the issue reported in this thread. It might be worth checking it just to see if it's relevant for your situation and just to confirm - does the app crash at all or is only the audio affected?
It's also a good idea to troubleshoot this a bit more to try and pinpoint the root cause, so here are some useful steps we suggest going through:

For the article linked, it says that they left the app open for 15 minutes and played music. However, on my end, I can’t play anything at all. The home page and library are now loading but when I click on the playlists, artists, and the search bar, it still keeps on loading. So unfortunately, I think that their solution won’t work in my case right now.
As for the other useful steps, I’ve tried them all but the situation didn’t change so far. To note, one of my family members (also part of the Premium Family plan) also seems to have her songs stop after the 10 second mark. She also updated her software recently like mine (iOS 18.7.1 - iPhone 11). Contradictory to this, another family member (also part of the plan) isn’t facing the same difficulties like us. I will keep performing your suggested steps over this week and I’ll update instantly if anything else happens.
Exactly the same Problem here, with the latest app version (9.0.90.1227), and the previous one.
Every tab in the app shows an endless loading animation, I cannot play any song.
During my first attempt I couldn’t even log-out because the app was stuck.
I suppose that it is actually stuck in all the screens, which is why the loading spinner doesn’t go away.
I tried every solution proposed in this and the linked thread, apart from keeping the app open for 15 minutes (which is also a ridiculous solution in my opinion).

Same issue and more..I use my iPad when I’m at home and at 1st it was great.. I come home put of music and go about my business…Then it all changed, instead of enjoying something I been paying for, that actually worked, “ Something Gone Wrong” after several retry, update, clear chase….i have to log on to my cell phone.. instant load !
When it finally decides to load on my tablet..I can hand it over. But if I want to change anything, play list , song , anything, it cuts out for 20;seconds. Before starting to play again…Instead of it just working like it once did,it’s become a frustration as I’m monkeying around with the latency issues. Not to mention all the bloat ware i have to scroll thru just to listen to my songs. I don’t need lyrics displayed all over,..there’s a selection for 5hat.. if I wanted to watch video I go to ytube..podcast…there so much junk know it takes away from what i enjoyed about the app, whyI signed up…
yes both mt iOS and app version up to dated..yes keep chase cleared , done nothing different… reading here all these hoops to go through just to listen to a streaming MUSICK service.. changing networks, logging onto someone else account, pulling sad cards, clearing chase constantly ( why have that fearure ) honestly going back to LP’s would be more enjoyable than paying more and more for something that doesn’t work smoothly… I just want to come home, put musick on and unwind….
go back to the basic and quit blaming ur customers for ur over inflated bloatware. Stuff no one asked for…if you wanted to be VH1 or MTV make a different app
