Installed latest update this morning. Offline playlist started but stopped when I went to my newspaper app.
I have been trying to get my offline function to work again. It worked fine for weeks, but now won't play offline. I notice where it says "GO ONLINE WITHIN..." no longer displays anything. It use to count down the 30 day time limit. I have done a clean install several times and reloaded all my songs. I'm using an iPhone 5 (all up to date).
Hi
I regualrly get issues with radio connectivity and often it just stops?
any word on if you'll have to uninstall/reinstall to get all of your offline music back if you update?
really hesitant about updating at this point, don't particularly want to have to sync music for hours
the answer to my previous question is that the issue still persists.
this is ridiculous.
I tried the reinstall option and resynced all my local music, but indeed the problem still persists. This is getting really annoying!
For those of you still following along at home, the syncing problem still has not been fixed in the newest updates. I got a new iPhone and resynced everything, but forgot to change my settings so that it wouldn't automatically download new updates. So now I am having to sync local files all over again.
I doubt any of the Spotify powers that be are listening, but it would be REALLY USEFUL if you gave detailed notes about each update instead of saying "herp derp we fixed some stuff" every time. Every other app on my phone gives actual notes, so I'm not sure what the big deal is.
Y'all better be glad I'm too lazy to switch to another service....
I am also having issues syncing offline playlists on my iPhone 5S. When selecting "Available Offline", the playlist looks like it starts to download, and a green arrow then shows up next to all the songs in the playlist. But, when i switch to Offline Mode, no songs will play. I have over 6GB of space, and am syncing the playlist over wifi, with a continuous connection for at least 8 hours. Running iOS 8.4 with the latest version of Spotify. One thing that is specific to my device is that it is a company phone, and has been configured to require a 4 digit passcode after a designated period of inactivity (I cannot set the auto-lock to "never"). Would this have anything to do with it? I have previously been able to download playlists to listen offline up until a few weeks ago.
When is this issue going to be solved??
Same here. Can't download, endless "Waiting to download" message.
For a few weeks now. Apple Music is looking better and better....
It looks like the most recent updates MIGHT have fixed the offline syncing issues. I downloaded 4.7.0 last night and started resyncing on my devices, then as a test downloaded 4.8.0 to see if the few songs that had synced would disappear. It's only been a few minutes, but the fact that they still had the green arrow next to them when I reopened Spotify is promising!
Also, I'd had a problem with a few local files staying grayed out on my iphone and ipad, even though they were on a playlist marked for offline use. Make sure those songs are actually in your local files on your computer--might have to go to whatever folder they're linked to on your computer's hard drive and change/delete and re-add a song or two to make sure everything goes to the right place.
Hopefully these fixes are legitimate. This offline sync brouhaha was one of the main reasons I was considering switching to Apple Music, until I realized that Apple Music has syncing issues of its own.
If things mess up again, y'all will be the first to know.
Similar issues to other users.
I'm on iphone 5 with latest iOS, and sometimes downloaded albums show up as "empty" when offline.
To get them reappear I need to get online again, even just for a second.
It usually happens when I open the Spotify app when I'm already in the subway: it's like the app needs to connect to the servers before allowing me to access my downloaded music.
It's a bit frustrating to be honest, given that this is the #1 feature I'm paying Spotify for.
