Thanks @Torley - some of those threads seem to be resolved or concerning related but separate syncing issues.
For anyone having continued syncing problems, could you let us know these details:
-- Exact amount of free space according to the Devices option on the Spotify desktop app when you connect your device.
-- The rough number of tracks you've synced successfully since you last reinstalled the app. Note: there's a limit of 3,333 tracks.
-- Whether you're syncing catalogue tracks or local files.
-- The make and model of the device you're syncing to, e.g. iPhone 5, iPod Nano 5th Gen.
If you're syncing local files and you're having the problem outlined here, we're looking into it.
I'm having problems with number 1 on my ipad 3rd gen. I'll make a playlist available offline and then it won't play at all. It doesn't matter if I'm online or offline. The song simply won't play. I've tried reinstalling spotify on my ipad to no avail.
Hi,
I have the #1 problem (I think).
I have an iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.3) with over 20 GB of unused space. I have synced about 900 tracks on the device (and about the same amount on my phone).
The syncing works fine (only catalogue tacks). But when I'm in offline mode some of the synced playlists doesn't load. I can see some album covers at the top but there are no tracks in the playlist and the swirling/loading sign is up. Most of the playlists work though, even the not synced playlists show their tracks. If I then go online, the not working playlist will load. I can then go back into offline mode and play all the synced tracks. This works until I close the app and only for the playlist that is "loaded" (I can't switch playlists).
The problem playlists are reloading each time I click the even in online mode, that seems to be the problem. For your information I have the same problem on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2).
Hello,
I have a problem with using my synched playlists in offline mode. Whenever I open Spotify on my phone and it's set to offline mode, I'm not able to view the playlists I've made available offline. I have to turn offline mode off and then manually open the playlist to be able to see the tracks in the list. The "Go Online Within" section also has a "-", instead of a number of days.
I have a iPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3
This problem happens every time and it started a couple of months ago. Hopefully you can help me out.
Thanks in advance.
l also started experiencing issue #1. I've tried deleting and re-adding songs, re-syncing the entire playlist. One in ten songs (at best) seem to sync. On top of that, other songs that are synced one moment seemingly disappear the next. Help me Spotify!
@Adam Thanks for following up. Here's my updated responses, I'm eager to precisely answer your diagnostic questions so you and your team can help us fix this sadness:
-- Exact amount of free space according to the Devices option on the Spotify desktop app when you connect your device.
8 GB free on my iPad 4. More than enough!
-- The rough number of tracks you've synced successfully since you last reinstalled the app. Note: there's a limit of 3,333 tracks.
What happens for me is the first sync or so will go through correctly, so I'll see tracks ascend (trying to test sync a playlist with less than 100 tracks). But when I reopen Spotify or check later, the sync will have paused, and subsequent attempts will be frozen. If I reinstall Spotify and do a reboot, the first sync or so MAY work again, but then it gets stuck once more.
The most usual case for me is it gets stuck at "1/65" or whatever and the progress indicator looks like it moves, but nothing happens.
I got stuck using the Spotify iOS 4 workaround some recommend too, so no luck there.
I've had some success using Tunigo (based on Spotify) as a workaround, oddly enough, although it syncs very slowly and doesn't update playlist titles correctly when they're renamed and whatnot. (And the local file playlist workaround described below doesn't work with Tunigo, either.)
-- Whether you're syncing catalogue tracks or local files.
Both, and both fail: catalogue tracks have the problem described above, and local files get stuck in "Pending" when I view the desktop Spotify.
However, I noticed the workaround recommended by some others to put local files in their own playlist and sync does work, at least the first time, consistent with my above halting.
I've also posted in that other local files sync problem thread.
-- The make and model of the device you're syncing to, e.g. iPhone 5, iPod Nano 5th Gen.
iPad 4
(I have two other devices but will focus on this now to keep it simple.)
yes,i m having the seond problem after the last update ( iphone 4) ios 6.1.3.
everytyime i open the application the "availbale offline" button switches to off by itself..i have to put it back on quickly , but if i m not too fast it llstart downloading everything back all over again..
1. I have an iPhone 4s and have made a playlist available offline on both my phone and computer, but the playlist will not play offline. The songs "sync" to my phone, but then the downward arrows next to all of the songs remain grayed-out. Nothing changes whether I'm using wi-fi, 4G, or directly connecting my phone to my computer through a USB cord. I have tried deleting the app from my phone and re-installing it and nothing changes.
I'm having an issue related to this. As of the latest update 15.09.2013, none of the songs i add to my offline playlists sync with my device. I made another playlist the other day, and it wouldnt sync at all. when i press the "available offline" button, it appears as if i pressed it again, and nothing happens. If i press it a second time however, the syncing process appears to start, and i get the grey download symbol next to all the titles even though nothing is downloading. This has been going on since i last updated. Except for a few crashes here and there, everything else is running smoothly. Any fix that doesnt involve deleting the app or resyncing everything? thx in advance.
iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4
#1 is a problem for me. Some of the tracks on my offline playlists aren't working even when I followed the instructions to sync the tracks. This problem occurred upon upgrading my iPhone to iOS 7.
Local tracks that were imported from my iTunes to Spotify are the problematic ones. Songs that I found on Spotify sync just fine.
Steps I have taken to try to resolve this issue:
Despite taking these steps, I still cannot listen to those particular songs..
Other requested information:
I'm running iOS 7 on the iPhone 5.
Even with offline playlists and songs the player will pause when cellular or wifi connection is lost. After a quick moment, playback resumes. And when network connection is reestablished, the player will again pause and quickly resume. This continues to occur even when Spotify offline mode is enabled.
The only workaround is to enable airplane mode.
I am also getting really tired of seeing this when I try to load my offline playlists... (Running the very latest version of the Spotify iOS app (0.7.6.37).)
I´m also having trouble as described in number 1.
I have discovered that it only happens if the phone is offline when I open the playklist.
If I open the playlist, put the phone to flightmode - then it still works.
But if open/load the playlist after that the phone is offline then the playlist is empty - or loading
And the problem does not apply to all offline playlists... some of the offline playlists still work.
Is there a solution?
Hello Spotify,
Finally I found what I was looking for.. I have also emailed this post to the support.
Account name:
Drebhan
Problem:
I have a problem with some of my offline playlists on my iPhone. Could be problem #1. When I go to one of these playlists without being connected to the internet (via wifi, edge or 3G), there is just a loading sequence and none of the songs are displayed. This loading sequence can continue forever - believe me I've tried. When I go to one of these playlist while connected to the internet, the same loading sequence starts and after a few seconds the songs reappears.
The whole summer, while being abroad, I've had trouble using my offline playlists.
I've tried reinstalling the app, making a new playlist by just copying all of the songs in it and syncing. But it doesn't seem to work. Also note that some of my playlists does work. If you can check my profile, one the playlist that doesn't work is "PH4V0R!T35". One that does work is: "PHÄÄÄÄT".
I would prefer if you wouldn't swipe my account clean, or had me change to another account. This is because I really enjoy to see the dates I put in the songs I listen to.
Please let me know how to fix this.
Bear regards
Johan Dreber
*EDIT*: My problem looks like the kennethmac2000's problem. He posted an image above in this thread.
1... Some of the synced music is playable and some not. MORE than happy to help, or its time to switch to those other guys in Cupertino
I'm having the same issue as karadanielle22
It's really annoying me, especially as I am Premium member .
