Hey folks,

"Playing recommended songs for you" is caused by the Autoplay feature. If Autoplay on desktop is controlling the feature's behavior across all platforms, try disabling it on the desktop app to see if that does the trick.

Smart Shuffle is another feature that keeps your listening sessions fresh by mixing in recommendations that match the vibe and if you've enabled it, Spotify will add tracks and personalized recommendations.

@Webrenner, if your playlist has less than 15 tracks in it, the mobile app will add similar songs to extend its duration. It's worth mentioning that Spotify adds songs to playlists and albums on the free mobile version and the more you listen, the better suggestions you get. You can check here for more info.

Hope this clears things up. Cheers!

Yordan,Yordan is my man ,if Yordan can't nobody can. So in order to disable autoplay in desktop app i had to install the app on my PC first and then i was able to disable the autoplay.so far so good. keep fingers crossed and see what happens.

thank you Yordan.

What if we don't have the desktop version of spotify? I can be listening to something other than my playlist, it don't matter, these random songs i don't care a thing about start playing. I'm on android, everything updated. I was listening to the rammstein playlist, and songs that are not even related to the same genre start playing as recommendations. I don't want recommendations period. It shouldn't matter how many songs are in our playlist. Maybe we want to hear the same 15 songs over and over. Keep your recommendations to yourself. If i want to listen to something different, i know where the search bar is. Quit forcing ppl to listen to **bleep** they want nothing to do with. Smh.

This is not helpful whatever so. Everything that support has suggested I have and yet, I STILL have a recommended option at the end of every playlist, even the podcasts. As someone mentioned, I have a playlist for a reason and that's because I want to listen to what I want to listen to - Spotify is not a radio and if I wanted to listen to a radio, I'd listen to a radio.

Remove this or make it an OPTION in SETTINGS where it belongs.

There is no enhance button on my playlist. Im a premium member and im on android.

hey i am also having this problem

  • free user
  • android
  • autoplay off on both mobile AND desktop
  • album (and playlist i made of all the songs to try and bypass this problem) has more than 15 songs (45 to be specific)

and i am still having the problem. there are multiple "suggested songs" in a row and most of them are vaguely unrelated. id like this problem to be fixed tbh

Non premium user, playlist just dropped i really want to listen to and has 15+ tracks, so far have gotten recommended songs for over 30mins straight and not a single one in the playlist

Fix. **bleep**

Good thing i don't have this problem anymore

I have disabled everything and I still get the stupid recommended songs, they aren’t even song that I would like. Please just have an option to completely remove it in settings

The stuff you recommended I did and it still only plays recommended songs and not anything on my playlist

It is so frustrating

Hi Bro,

You can easily remove the playing recommended songs for you on Spotify By using the SpotifyErrors step by step on it from it's official website spotifyerrors.com.

Hope that this guide will be healpful for you and you will easily remove it.

Regards,

I am an iPhone user who has not purchased Spotify premium. I have a playlist on Spotify with over 200 songs added to it and Spotify only allows 5 to 6 songs max to be played from it and then starts a recommended song that I do not want to hear. Upon that, for me Spotify has also denied access to play songs in order, skip songs after a certain few and fast forward through songs because I do not have premium. I was fine with this but now playing songs out of my own playlist has crossed limits.

I have 19 and it still plays random songs

Turning off autoplay doesn't fix this issue for me. The issue for me isn't when I'm playing a playlist that ends, it's whenever I open the app after having closed it - I open Spotify and rather than showing the song I closed the app on, a random pop song (i listen almost exclusively to Metal) will come up and start playing. Today it was "all i want for christmas." If I open the player it show's "playing Spotify Suggested Songs" at the top. The suggested songs don't even make sense for my user profile. It's highly annoying.

This string is pointing out two problems with Spotify that are linked. The first is their algorithm (read AI) which chooses songs for listeners. This chat string is proof that all AI is not equal and that Spotify’s AI is artificial stupid intelligence. Simply stated, it is clear that a large number of users find the recommendations to be a terrible match to their tastes. For me, this has gotten worse with time. I was able to disable the recommendations so it is less a problem, based on a suggestion from this string (for which I was grateful), but this is all a too cumbersome way to address issues with Spotify, as this chat string demonstrates.

This leads to the second problem which is imposing these terrible selections on listeners as a default. For Spotify to have a setting that enables Spotify to recommend songs. It would only engage if the user elects for that service. That would be transparency in action. The other aspect of that transparency would be to have some way to permit us users to modify the algorithmic settings (i.e. sliders to increase or decrease interest in musical characteristics). I originally joined Spotify for the access to diverse music with the expectation that the service would be able to guide me to genres that were new to me, but contained elements of what I liked. That was originally true but is not now. As a result, I’m exploring other options.

This is a trend where large Tech companies force their 'features' on their customers. I don't like this, but the owners do not care, at least not before customers walks away. Lets have loads of options we cant choose to turn ON in settings and options.

Yeah, I'm not spending a dollar on Spotify until they fix this. Terrible, terrible forced feature. What's even the point of a playlist at this point if I can't be in total control of my music?

Fr

I see some of my very eclectic and one of a kind music on another person's playlist that Spotify added for them. They didn't add these songs themselves which is weird. This person and I don't follow each but we do know each other and I think she might be creeping on my Spotify which doesn't necessarily bother me, but I'd just like to know what that means when your songs are added to someones playlist by Spotify without following each other but knowing them. We do not have mutual followers either.

I have 50 songs in my playlist and I'm still getting these annoying crappy recommended songs. I turned off the autoplay setting already and it's getting annoying.
