Hi All,
Hope this is ultimately constructive -- my ideal world is one where Spotify becomes a bit better, and hope that if Spotify can understand why current behaviour is driving me (and I believe others, but I can only speak for myself) to switch from a service I otherwise love, perhaps it will drive improvement.
I've been with Spotify for years, and you'd think that I'd be used to and have work arounds in place -- but the @#$%ARGHHHH@#$ Queue continues to irritate the heck out of me... if it wasn't for a couple other factors, I would have GLADLY kicked Spotify to the curb ages ago, and if fact, I have subscriptions to other services that I'm experimenting with -- all because the Queue management is so bad and frustrating.
1) Listening to a bunch of tracks, but started them "wrong", but just add some more, and they took priority over everything else? LOLLOL you gotta go into the queue and drag all the those tracks to the end!
2) Listening to something and accidently tapped a song you wanted more info on? LOLLOL your queue is gone!
3) Oh, someone sent you a link to a cool song, but you were in a groove on something else? You gotta choose -- either click that link and blow up your listening session, or you gotta go manually search up that exact song that you already have the link to and be careful to add it to your list correctly!
4) Got some thing in the Queue that you added by hitting the PLAY button an album? Well, in order to make your Queue work the /other way/ you have to realize that everything you are adding is to going /BEFORE/ your originally queue tracks, delete the Queue, then add everything back in using the <triple dot> menu instead.
So, yeah, it really sucks to hear that even a basic improvement to Queue management is not a priority. Like, it's otherwise generally a good product, but there are times when this aspect of the service makes me so frustrated that it completely ruins any pleasure in listening to music, and I just turn off music entirely for the day. I know, it isn't Spotify /doing that/ to me; that's my wiring, but daaaaaarn it, after /years/ of "nope, ain't got time for that" it would be nice if Spotify would dig into this aspect of the service experience.
Just making it two /consistent/ behaviours -- insert into the queue (PLAY NEXT) as well as "ADD TO END", and have it so that hitting "PLAY" on album was the same as one or the other (instead of putting the queue into a totally different "Mode") would eliminate so much user frustration and confusion, as far as I can tell.
Lots of folks in my circle seem to have similar confusion, so I suspect I'm no alone anywhere.
Anyway, thanks for everything, and again, hope this helps.
