Ipod not showing up in Devices when connecting by USB cable - Claims WiFi

Having had Spotify Premium for some years - I recently bougth an Ipod Touch 16Gb - when trying to connct to the computer via USB, it for some reason claims to connect to Wifi to show up under devices - why is this ? - should it not be sufficent to connect to computer by USB cable ?

To sync with the Spotify app on iPod Touch you have to use WiFi

Tanx for response ! - this is my first Ipod so I didn't know this problem existed - the guide is then misleading as it is

not mentioning that you need a WiFi - I'm now travelling and the place where I am now doesn't have a WiFi only USB connection.

Spotify should really do somthing to fix this stupid matter.
