Ipod touch 32gb 5th generation not being recognized by pc.

I have an android phone which works fine with spotify, however my new Ipod touch is not being recognized by Spotify. The only thing I haven't tried yet is uninstalling from pc. Any suggestions.

That is strange, do you have the Spotify application open and running on the iPod touch and connected to the same WiFi network? 

Also what version of iOS is your iPod running?

Same wireless network and its runnning ios 6.1.

 I've had it running without it showing up.  I've had it running shut down spotify on pc and restarted, still nothing. I've shut down both and restarted both in differing orders, still nothing. I'm running out possible ways of getting these two to recognize each other.

Does following the steps in this post help at all?

I would also double check your Windows firewall settings to make sure all Spotify connections are being allowed.

Ok that post seemed to have done the trick, I have to go to work in a few minutes(this has taken me all morning) I'll sync what I can for the moment and then try again tomorrow morning. Thanks for the help.
