My Question or Issue

Liked songs are not syncing between the PC/Web apps and the iPhone/iPad apps.

Liked songs will sync between the PC and web apps.

Like songs will sync between the iPhone and iPad apps.

To test this I used an album where all the songs on the album were set to Liked.  This was the same on all the apps, PC, web, iPhone and iPad.

I then removed the Liked status for all songs on the PC app.  This change was reflected in the web app but not the iPhone or iPad app.

I cleared the cache for all apps which had no effect.

I uninstalled the app from the iPhone and then reinstalled it.  The songs on the iPhone were set to Liked.  I watched as the Liked song ticks came on for each song in the album.  This still did not reflect the Liked status on the PC app.

I removed the Liked status for one song on the iPhone app.  This was immediately reflected in the iPad app but not the PC or web apps.

Thanks,

Toby

To anyone finding this thread in the future, this is how to fix this dumb issue that is somehow not fixed by signing out and signing back in.

After these steps your Spotify is set to the state you have in the Web App.

  1. Close Spotify on your PC.
  2. Open your File Explorer and go to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Users
(assuming you installed Spotify on the default location)
You can copy past that path in your File Explorer or find it manually
  3. In this location you'll see a folder named "XXXXXXXXXX-user"
    (10 digits-user). Delete that folder
  4. Start Spotify, the folder should be generated automatically again.

If this didn't solve your issue, repeat the steps but sign out of Spotify first.

Curiously, restarting my laptop fixed the issue for me.

Hi guys,

No idea why, but the spotify app on my laptop has stopped to sync and save the song I liked on my mobile app.

I've already tried to log out and in and re-install the app, but it's still showing the same songs I liked up until the 22nd December.

But if I login from the browser, the player is all up to date.

Is there anything else I should look for to make sure the desktop app will be able to update and sync?

Thanks in advance for your help

For some reason the songs that i liked on my smartphone don't apear on my pc app's playlist, it shows that my last song liked was from a month ago. Actually, not even the albuns apear as "liked" on the pc.  Anything that i can do to solve the problem?

I recently added some songs to my liked songs from iPhone, but these songs are not showing up in my liked songs on my PC. When I try to play these songs on my PC using my phone as a remote, it is unable to play the songs, giving me the "Spotify can't play this right now" error.

I have tried entering offline mode on both devices and relaunching, but the issue persists.

same issue even after following the steps you mentioned

I just faced the issue rn, this worked for me,

In windows:

Go to settings -> installed apps -> find spotify and click on that -> scroll below you will find Reset section, click on reset button.

Login again.

THIS!

These steps helped in my case, but on a Windows 11 installation the proper "Spotify\Users" directory is located at:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\SpotifyAB.SpotifyMusic_XXXXXXXXX\LocalState\Spotify\Users

any updates?

My Question or Issue

My spotify on desktop is not saving any liked songs for the last 3 weeks. My spotify on my iphone does save liked songs but those liked songs are only showing up on my phone's liked songs. If I save a song on my desktop it wont show up on either desktop or my iphone in my liked songs, as if it never saved in the first place. I have tried to log out and in on desktop, uninstall and reinstall the app and still no result.

Hey, little thing I've tried. Using Mobile app on Android, and then the native .exe app on Win10 (not microsoft store version)

After losing a lot of hope of my devices being synced, i tried one last thing. in the windows app drawer thing (little arrow in the bottom-right next to clock/date and such) find the spotify app>right click>Troubleshooting>Reset app data and restart. it will log you out, and take a little bit to wake back up, but it worked for me. full sync between Android app, Web player (Chrome) and the native desktop app on Win10. Hopefully this works for you!

This one worked for me - thank you!

My Liked Songs playlist doesn't update the songs I add from my phone in my laptop. On my phone, I've liked more songs the past few days, but on my laptop they don't show on my Liked Songs playlist. I don't know how to fix this. Could you help me please?

Highest of fives! That worked for me too 😉 Super stoked to fix that, was driving me crazy, much appreciated!

I have to do this daily.  This should not be the case, meaning this is an issue with Spotify.  They need to fix it.

This worked a charm and is dead simple to do. Thanks!!!
