Spotify Connect no longer working

Recently started using Spotify (free) and loved the connect feature as an easier way to control audio out of my Alexa devices.

However logged on today to see this is now a premium feature? Can someone confirm if this is an error, as I couldn’t see any reference to it under the premium features page.

You can use Spotify Connect even when on Spotify Free. There’s more information about that here. 

You can use the Spotify Connect website to ensure that the device you’re using is also compatible with Spotify Free, as some devices may require the use of Spotify Premium.
