Smart shuffle skips song that is currently playing

Smart shuffle skips song that is currently playing

When I have songs queued and turn smart shuffle on the song that is currently playing is skipped and the next song in the queue starts to play. If this is a feature it’s a stupid one, and if it’s a bug I would appreciate it getting fixed. I would also like to not have smart shuffle turn on when I hit the shuffle button! Smart shuffle is a horrible feature and I hate it immensely.

Hey @Natethesnotsogreat

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Sorry to hear that your listening experience is being hindered. Let's look at this together, shall we!

We weren't able to replicate this behavior on our end. Do you experience this when trying to enable Smart Shuffle on the Desktop version or the Web app or is it just on your mobile device? We'd advise to clear your cached files and try again.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Cheers,

Also happening to me.

steps:

1. Put a song to play

2. add one to the queue

3. click on shuffle to enable smart shuffle and then click again to disable. song will be skipped to the one you added on 2

Iphone app, version 8.9.38.455

Actually, the whole queue and smart shuffle seems not to work together. Sometimes even adding a song to the queue makes it skips.

just play around adding songs to queue and toggling smart shuffle

Hi @Fmflores22,

Thanks for the info!

We've forwarded this to the attention of our tech folks and this should now be fixed! Make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.

Cheers 🤘
