Local files on offline spotify

I have recently added new songs onto my computer and I want to put them onto my offline spotify in order to put them onto my ipod. There are also some other files want to add aswell. These files and my new songs won't import onto my spotify, an anyone help me?

Hi. I'm a bit confused - are you trying to synch local files or spotify content too? Which ipod do you have? Do you have a premium subscription?
