Loss of quality on playlist thumbnails.

I use Spotify on both my Lenovo laptop and my iPhone SE. I create and upload my thumbnails through my laptop, and everything looks fine, but when I look at the playlist thumbnail on my mobile the picture has lost a lot of quality. I've tried making larger and smaller thumbnails and neither seem to make a difference. I have also noticed that the quality is lost with not only my thumbnails, but also all album art. Anyone know what is happening?
