Metadata not updating over bluetooth

I've got an iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1.2 running Spotify iOS 1.6.0.1746.  My phone is paired via bluetooth to the stock MyLink radio in my 2013 Chevy Volt.  Quite often the metadata will stop updating.  I can still jump between tracks and the time bar across the bottom of the radio updates and changes with each song.  I've taken a video and uploaded it to Dropbox.

Same problem for me. Except it's not quite often it's ALLWAYS

Updated the car's software without any improvements

Installed WIMP and that works perfectly, so that tells me it's the Spotify app that's causing the problem
