Music stops playing when Messages is opened

I have spotify premium and an iPhone 5c. I've never had this problem before, but now when I open Messages, Spotify will automatically pause. It only does it with messages, not with any other apps. Any suggestions as to what I should do to fix this/does anybody know what's going on?

I figured it out if anybody else is having the same problem...just quit out of Spotify and the Messages app, reopen them, and it works!

This didn't work for me. It seems that whenever I open up a new page on my mac pro, spotify will also stop playing.
