Music stops playing when screen locks

This just started happening, the music stops playing when the screen auto-locks or i press the lock button. This happens on aux cable and via Airplay and ofcourse on speaker. I've had Spotify on my phone for over 2 years and this has never happened before. 

Today I changed the autolock function to 5 minutes for a few hours and then back to 1 minute, and this seems to have triggered the problem. What's wrong?

Well, now I feel silly. Just restart the app. It seems when you change the auto-lock times you have to restart he app for it not to stop playing when locking the screen.
