My Spotify personalized profile is messed up

My Spotify personalized profile is messed up

Hi,

My personalized Spotify (basically everything under "Made for You", Release Radar, Discover Weekly, etc) has gone haywire. This is all because weekly, I put on ambient music during tabletop gaming with friends. I also have a 2 year old daughter who can't sleep without "city sounds" on so the same "city sounds playlist" is on repeat the entire night.

Problem: Spotify now thinks I am all for musical, ambient stuff. My Discover Weekly etc is filled with the stuff (and gangster rap kinda **bleep**, which must be some sort of woke algorithm shoved in there because that makes zero sense whatsoever).

Question 1: How can I reset my profile? I want Spotify to treat me like I've never listened a single song on there yet, ever.

Question 2: How can I tell Spotify NOT to listen to certain playlists (like ambient music playlists)?

I'm very close to just quitting Spotify altogether. All the features I pay for monthly no longer work.

PS: My "Best of 2020" playlist consisted of nothing else but music for toddlers. **bleep** awesome, Spotify. That's what I pay 15 bucks a month for 😉

Hey @Maphesta,

Thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community with this one.

Currently there isn't a way do rest your listening history, however, this is something other Spotify users mentioned they'd like to see in this idea so make sure to add your support there. AS a workaround you can create a new profile and if you wish - transfer your music library there using these steps.

Keep in mind that music you listen to while in private mode doesn't contribute to the Made for You content. You can also set up a Spotify Kids account for your child, if the app is available in your region.

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.
