My music does not resume after watching a short video on other apps

My music does not resume after watching a short video on other apps

Previously when I’m listening to music on my Spotify app I can scroll through Twitter or Facebook apps watch a short video when I’m done the music resumes playing on Spotify but now the moment I watch a video on any other app it refuse to resume and I have to open the Spotify app again and press play
It’s really annoying

Welcome to the Community!

 

This is an odd issue. Does it happen in specific apps, or does it affect every short term interruption of Spotify? Have you tried clearing your cache? If that doesn't help we would advise to perform a clean reinstall by following these steps here.

 

Keep us posted on how it goes. If by any chance these steps dont help out, could you please get back to us and send us a screen recording so we can see what's happening.

I too seem to be having the same issue as the previous person.

 

I tried clean re-installing and also made sure that Spotify has the permission to run in the background. I have also made sure that the background app refresh is toggled on. However, even after all this the issue still persists.

 

I use an IPhone 16 pro iOS version:18.0

 

Would please tell me how you were able to solve the previous persons issues?

Thanks for reaching out!

Could you check if you have any battery saving settings or power saving apps switched on for your device? If so, try turning it off to see if you notice any difference.

An option is to try resuming playback from the device's control center. It can be accessed on iOS 18 by swiping down on the top right corner. This way, you should be able to start playback again without opening the Spotify app.

Should this behavior persist, could you let us know if this happens at any specific points? For example, only when using Bluetooth headphones or speakers. Also, did you notice if this began happening after an update to the Spotify app or the device's OS?
