No signal for subwoofer

No signal for subwoofer

when I connect my iphone to an amplifier, the subwooker doesn't play any sound. It seems the low frequency of spotify music, even using the best quality, is not enough.

Does anybody know which is the lowest frequency that spofity can offer?

Can you please give a description of the speaker/amplifer setup, also describe hos you connect your iPhone to the amplifier

I am unable to reproduce your issue, have a 2.1 soundsystem and i have no issue with my subwoofer, this could suggest that the issue is with your soundsystem setup.

Hello,

thanks for your help, I connect the iphone to the amplifier with an apple cable 30pin to composite video.

The amplifier is SONY, I think TA-DA....

I use MD/DAT IN in the amplifier.

Hmm, are you using an active or regular subwoofer? And is there a way to set the crossover frequency on the Sub, is so you could try setting this higher?

Many amplifier have a passive sub port/jack that is connected to the Sub which does not amplify the input signal, in this case the signal from the iPhone is too weak for a passive subwoofer to work.

I am using an active sub, TS2.10 TANNOY. The crossover frequency is set to 100Hz more or less and I can adjuts it up to 150Hz. I will try it later but if this is the reason then the other speakers are enought since they work from 80Hz.

But a good quality music should have lower frequencies. Maybe it is not correct to use MD/DAT entry in the amplifier?

Try using another entry on the amplifier. the subwoofer should work with the current crossover settings, so that is not the issue.

Problem solved !
