Hi everyone,
I've searched the forum for days, and tried a lot of things, without success. I have the following situation, and no solution so far:
- Two laptops (both Macs), two phones (one iPhone 6s, one Android), all with Spotify premium (on two accounts in a family subscription)
- Local wifi, with sufficient bandwidth (200 Mbit down, 20 Mbit up, and I am actually reaching these rates)
- Both laptops and the Android phone work perfectly in the local Wifi, both streaming and offline syncing (downloading) playlists
- No firewalls active, also not router-side, no restrictions for any devices.
Now the problem:
- The iPhone 6s cannot properly sync offline playlists.
- When freshly connecting to the wifi network, the phone will sometimes download one song, sometimes a few (but never more than about 12), sometimes none. This happens effectively instantly, over the connection each song takes way less than a second.
- After these 0-12 songs (on average, one or two), download stops. I can sort of download playlists by turning off and on the wifi connection hundreds of times, but that is no solution.
- On the Android device, download of full playlists works perfectly, as it does on the Macs
- subscription in the app shows "Premium"
- Streaming works perfectly
- the iPhone has 114 GB free storage, that should be plenty
- latest iOS version (9.2) and Spotify is also up to date (4.6.0.1466)
- if I (for testing, that is not a solution) turn off wifi, and allow mobile downloading over LTE, I can download playlists normally
What I tried:
- uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify and rebooted the phone several times
- made iOS forget the wifi network and the router forget the iphone
- triple-checked network settings in both router and phone. Everything seems fine.
- There are no special settings for this phone, the device is treated like any other network device.
Right now I am clueless as to what could be the issue. Anybody got an idea what else I could try?
