Playback on Apple Watch

I recently upgraded my iphone from a 7s to an XS. Ever since I haven’t been able to control Spotify on my Apple Watch 3. It shows that Spotify is playing on my phone, but it does not show what is playing, or allow me to skip tracks, or change the playlist. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times with no luck. Any other suggestions??

I figured it out. I tried unpairing and repairing the watch with my phone and that worked.
