My Question or Issue
I keep all of my music organized as playlists, which I have organized by artist and album in folders and subfolders. In my folder called "Tier 1", where I keep all of my favorites, I have 311 folders (named by artist), each of which has multiple album playlists within, and 269 playlists that aren't in one of the subfolders because it's the only album by that particular artist. As of about two days ago, on both my iPhone and my iPod, when I scroll through the playlists in Tier 1, I get to a playlist by a band called Gloin and then all of the playlists after that one alphabetically are blank. It shows that something is there but there is no picture and no name and I can't make any of the invisible ones play. Everything works fine on my desktop. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, logging out and logging back in, switching to offline mode temporarily, and nothing works. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like when the playlists start being invisible.
Hi there @jimdudukovich,
Thanks for reaching out!
Can you try creating a subfolder in the desktop app and adding all of the playlists that are appearing as invisible to it to see if this makes a difference on your iPhone and iPod? I'd also recommend giving another internet connection a shot - a different WiFi or mobile data, for example. Another thing that comes to mind is logging in your account on a friend or relative's phone to check if you see the playlists there. This way we can confirm if this is device- or account-related.
Keep us posted.
I went through a lot of contortions (clean re-installs on all devices, etc.) but no luck. Ultimately I broke my main favorites folder into 4 subfolders (A-G, H-O, P-S, and T-Z), moved everything into the applicable sub folder, and it works now. Really nonsensical because there isn’t supposed to be a limit on the number of playlists, and the way I had it organized had worked for years with no issues and then suddenly quit working.
I have the same problem, only on my ipod Touch 7, IOS 15.8.3
My folder of 273 playlist appears without any problem on my samsung (phone) or laptop, but its on my ipod that i listen spotify the most...
Will an update correct this ?
Thanks
Hi,
I have the exact same problem on both my iPad and iPhone.
It seems that it happens on folder that have more than 200 playlist inside .
However it’s clearly a bug since my folders used to worked 100% fine until very recently.
i think the bug started with the last ios app update.
Please fix it asap because this is a massive problem for me and your users.
best regards and hoping the fix will come quick.
.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your replies and for the info shared.
@heco571, @remiorange, it seems adding the playlists on subfolders made the trick for @jimdudukovich. Would you mind giving it a try to see how it goes? You can also create a different folder and add the playlists to it.
We'd also suggest that you:

Hi,
-i will not move my playlist to sub folder. It was working completely fine a few weeks ago, the problem is clearly a bug from the app that Spotify has to correct on his end. Asking your users to use a desktop computer to move around 150 playlist is not the solution. Release a fix via an app update please.
-my app and device are up to date , and I already cleared the cache and it changed nothing, the bug is still there
-device are iPhone SE 3 and iPad Pro M2 2023. Spotify version is 9.0.18
-yes, it started a few weeks ago so I guess one of the last update is responsible for that bug. The bug seems to affect all folder that have more than 200 playlist.
clearly an app bug..
please release a fix update asap,
the whole thing is very unprofessional from Spotify .
best regards
Hello, i agree with remiorange, please release a fix update,
i tried to update the app and to clear the cache, i rebooted my ipod and still doesnt work.
I'm on ipod 7, ios 15.8.3
Spotify 9.0.18.548
Best regards
Hey folks,
Thanks for the details you've provided.
We've tested this on our end and were able to reproduce the issue. It's been forwarded to the relevant team at Spotify, we'll keep you posted in this thread.
Appreciate your time and effort in reporting this!
I am having this problem too. Won’t load whole folder. Get the dreaded Target icons. I’ve use this list as my goto for something like eight years! No problems until very recently. Happens on iphone and ioad. Don’t have desktop or laptop. I keep my devices and apps up to date. I’ve tried all the delete/ reinstall clear cache log in log out blah blah blah ad nauseum.
Some playlists have disappeared on iPhone 15 Pro and iPad 9th generation, but they appear in the Mac app. If I search for playlists, they appear and I can listen and edit them, but I can't see them in the normal list. Spotify updated on both. The problem with reinstalling is that it's almost a hundred gigabytes of download. And the problem is recent.

My Question or Issue
I have a folder in my library with 312 sub-folders inside it. Only the first 200 are loading, with the rest remaining blank. I’ve had this issue for the last week or two, and have tried clearing cache and performing a clean reinstall, with nothing working.
Spotify Version: 9.0.20.538
Yep having the same issue here too.
A folder which has 294 playlists in at time of writing which is a simple A-Z of my favourite artists. The first 200 display (from The 1975 up until Plan B) and anything after Plan B is unselectable and just a placeholder blank CD icon with missing Playlist names etc.
This just affects my iPhone and has only started happening in the past week or so. The app on my PC and Mac are both fine.
Already 20 days and still no solution and still not working.
when is the fix coming ?
thanks
Can a moderator confirm if Spotify agrees this is a problem? And if they do, when might a fix be coming? There was another update yesterday that did not include a fix. Thanks.
This is still happening! Some confirmation from someone would be nice...
Inacceptable !
Still no fix ? Seriously ?
When is the fix coming ? It’s been 3 month already !
