Pls Help: Iphone 5 is not being recognised by Spotify and can't sync

I've been using Spotify for years but I recently upgraded to Spotify Premium. When I wanted to use it on my Iphone 5 I logged in using the same account and managed to streamed music on my iPhone5. But it was later that I realised the music I streamed on my phone was a 48hour trial. Now Spotify on my phone doesn't work but I have upgraded to Premium on my computer. When I plug my phone in the device is not recognised. How can I get Iphone app to be recognised as a device on my computer so that I can sync and get music?

Please help!!! :S

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

I would suggest you have a read at and try the steps outlined in this post and see if they can get you up and running.

Be sure that you are logging in using the same details on both the phone and the computer.

Hello Peter,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have deleted the Spotify app on my phone. Restarted it. Then restarted my computer... Nothing... No change. Spotify Premium is still not recognised on my phone even though I am logging in with the same account... dumfounded...

What shall I do? Is there a way you can see that accounts on both devices are activating properly?

Best,

Glad you got it all fixed. I've gone ahead and deleted the second account you had so don't worry about that getting in the way again. Make sure to always use your username rather than your email address and you should be fine to enjoy this fine Monday tune: The Bangles – Manic Monday. Enjoy!

I downloaded a specific album as playlist and tried to make it available offline by downloading it using WiFi while abroad (Italy). I ended up having the album downloaded but no sound. The situation was the same when I got home. I deleted the album/playlist and tried to download it again.  It plays on my computer but not on my Iphone 5. All other playslists that I have and did not try to download while abroad are working fine on the phone. Whats wrong?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

It sounds like that album might be corrupt in your Spotify cache on the iPhone for some reason, unfortunately, there is no way to clear out that data easily, since even marking the playlist as not available offline does not delete the data.

If you really really want that album to work, then I would suggest a quick clean reinstallation of the app, however be aware you will need to resync all of your offline content.
