My Question or Issue

My iPhone connects via Bluetooth to my car, and the Spotify app shows the car as the playback device, but when I start playback, it immediately pauses.

I've unpaired and removed the device from both the iPhone and the car, and I've also uninstalled the Spotify app from the iPhone, deleting all data, and reinstalled it, but the problem persists.

Is there any solution?

Many thanks.

Regards.

Hi there @Cheps,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Does this only happen when you're playing Spotify in your car via Bluetooth or with other Bluetooth devices as well, for example headphones, a speaker, etc.? Can you also confirm if it happens with all content or just with specific playlists? In case you have an AUX or USB cable, it'd be great if you can check if the playback pauses with them as well.

It's also worth asking someone to connect to your car from their own device to see if they experience the same thing. This way we can check if this might be device-related.

Keep us posted.

Hi @Dessi

It only happens when I play Spotify in my car and on my iPhone. I used to have a Xiaomi and it played without a problem.

I've tried it via Bluetooth, with headphones, and also with a speaker, and it plays music without a problem.

Regards.

Hey @Cheps,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you check if the OS of your iPhone has any pending updates? We'd also like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update either of Spotify or the OS of your device.

On another note, sending us a video of the issue happening would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be waiting for your reply.
