My Question or Issue
Solved! Go to Solution.
Sorry I should have updated this. Figured out what was going on for me although not sure it’ll help everyone.
This was occurring where I played a playlist via an Alexa device. It turned out that Amazon, in their infinite wisdom, had added a new Autoplay feature and defaulted it to on. To turn off you need to go More> Music and More> Settings>Autoplay from the Alexa app. Hope it’s ok to have instructions for Alexa on here as this solved the issue for me.
If I try to play an album on my Spotify Premium family account after the first song random songs begin to play instead of the album. It's as if it goes directly into autoplay mode after the first song. I force stopped the app and cleared the cache and that seemed to solve the problem in the short term but it immediately started again. I tried clearing the cash and uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and it did not fix the issue. Seems to happen when I connect to a Google smart speaker.

My Question or Issue
I don't know why my post was moved and stuck in with this other thread. Not the same issue, this is not solving anything. So I tried disabling autoplay, and now when I try to play an album it just stops after the first song. Nothing in the queue at all. But if I start playing on the second song, and the rest of the entire queue is there.
Hey @Adam055,
Thanks for following up!
We're currently gathering info about issues with playback of random songs in playlists or albums in this thread. Most of the reports seem to be related to Bluetooth and smart speakers, which sounds quite similar to what you're describing.
As you mention that your issue is different, could you define it further for us so we can get a better overview and help you more accurately?
Also, do you experience the same thing when listening directly from the phone's speakers? Does this only happen with albums or have you noticed this with playlists as well?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Apologies, yes I see the connection. You are absolutely right, it works fine and as expected on my phone and as soon as I try to connect to a speaker group, the rest of the album disappears.
Hi there @riannaqqqq,
Thanks for your reply and for the info you provided.
Now, it seems you're using a speaker group. Just to check, does this happen if you play on an individual speaker as well or just when using the speaker group? And does it happen only with albums? If you haven't, check if it happens with playlists. Also, try adding songs to the queue and check if it also ignores the queue after the first song finishes.
On another note, go to your Account Overview page and Sign out everywhere. Additionally, remove access to all the apps you've connected to your account from here. You can easily reconnect your apps anytime. Once done, log back in and check if that makes a difference. Take into account, you might have to re-link your Spotify account from the Google Home app.
We'll be on the lookout!
