Recently I encountered an issue where whenever I remove all of my playlists from my profile, Spotify stops showing my recently played artists. But as soon as I add a playlist to my profile, recently played artists appear again.
Private session is 'off', and 'Recently played artists' is turned on. This seems to happen only on the mobile app, as I did the same on my mac computer and even when I removed all of the playlists I still could see 'Recently played artists' and they were being updated correctly.
I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but it didn't help.

Hi I've been having this issue for a while that my recently played artists don't show up on my profile on my phone and my friends don't see them but I can see them on my laptop. I've tried logging in and out, deleting the app, changing social settings many times but it doesn't help. I also tried to delete the app from my laptop and only use my phone but that didn't work. Also my profile picture don't update sometimes on my laptop when I change it on my phone. So does anyone know what's going on?
Hey @citrinoj,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
You mentioned that you've reinstalled the app, but could you give it another go with the steps described in this thread?
If that doesn't resolve the issue, could you try with a different account on the affected device and try recreating the issue?
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
Hello Elena,
Thank you for trying to help me. Unfortunately reinstalling the app as described in the thread didn't fix the problem.
Also, I did as you suggested: I tried to recreate the issue with a different account on my phone and the exactly same thing happened. So I can only assume the problem lies with my phone 😕
Thanks,
Lina
