My Question or Issue

Hello Spotify Team,

I encountered a UI formatting issue in the Spotify mobile application when sharing a podcast screenshot and rotating the device orientation.

I’ve documented the behavior below using a Gherkin (BDD) format to clearly explain the issue.

Feature: Share sheet layout after screenshot while watching a podcast

Background:
Given the user is logged into the Spotify mobile application
And the user is viewing a podcast episode playback screen
And the device is initially in portrait orientation

Scenario: Share sheet UI layout breaks after device rotation

Given the user is viewing a podcast playback screen
When the user takes a screenshot
Then the Spotify share sheet opens with options such as Search, Create Group, contacts, and messaging apps

When the user rotates the device from portrait to landscape
Then the share sheet should re-render correctly according to the device orientation
And all icons, labels, and contact names should remain aligned and readable

Actual Behavior:
• Some contact names appear split incorrectly across multiple lines
• UI alignment becomes inconsistent after rotation
• Layout appears visually broken compared to the expected design

Expected Behavior:
The share sheet should dynamically adjust to the device orientation and maintain proper alignment of icons, labels, and contact names.

I’ve attached a screenshot demonstrating the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or is this bug?

Hi there, @virtuosolefty

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

We suggest trying these troubleshooting steps to see if they make a change:

  • Perform a clean reinstall of the app.
  • Log in and log out twice in a row.
  • Clean the cache of the affected device.
  • Try with a different connection (another Wi-Fi network, mobile data or mobile hotspot).
  • Try all this on a different mobile device, if possible (you can borrow it from a relative or friend).

Let us know how it goes!
