Sharing to Instagram stories no longer provides link to song on Spotify

Before it used to have a link to click thru to the song on Spotify when you shared it to Instagram stories. Sometimes it would even play a preview of said song on stories. It now just basically functions as a screenshot of what you’re listening to and story viewers would thus have to manually search it in Spotify themselves (which, let’s be honest, no one’s going to do). Please fix this! And fix it so ALL songs play a preview in stories!!

The preview clips you mentioned were previously part of a test that has now ended. We’re always trying out possible improvements, so you or someone else may see something new or get a limited feature temporarily on the app.
 

You should still be able to play the song on Spotify from the Instagram story. Do you have a Play on Spotify button at the top-left corner of the story on your end? If not, could you try reinstalling both apps to see if that does the trick? You can follow the steps to perform a clean reinstall of Spotify in this article.

It's also worth checking if sharing a different track would have the Play on Spotify button when viewing the story.
