Shuffling to songs not in the playlist

I don't have premium and I'm not going to purchase it till this problem is fixed. Basically, when i shuffle a playlist, it'll play songs not in the playlist. It'll even play songs I've never heard of. However, it always plays a song from the same artists in my playlists. My playlists are mostly single songs from an artist here or an artist there. I even tried making a playlist with just one song, and it'll still shuffle to other songs from that one artist. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app but to no avail. Help!

Peter, when I use Spotify on a mobile device and try to play an artist's album in its entirety random songs are also added in.  Is this the same issue as those with playlist problems...i.e. it adds it "suggested songs" if there are fewer than 12 artists?  If so, that's crazy!  Thanks for your help!

I have 22 songs in my playlist and it’s still shuffling to recommended songs, and when it does it plays from 5-7 songs so even if I have the meager 4 or so skips that a free user has I still have listen to the absolute **bleep** that it gives me.

I’ve just had 15+ recommended songs in a row, this is awful.

I have plenty of songs in my playlist and no matter how many skips it continues to play from " suggested tracks" and it gets stuck there. Please help me. Thank You.

I found that clearing the data and cache on the mobile app fixed this problem. After you do this, make sure repeat is on because that allows your playlist to be replayed without as many suggested songs coming up after it is over. It also helps to turn off Auto Play in your settings so if you don't have it on repeat, the music will stop playing after a paylist has ended.

I subscribe to Premium and Spotify has just started switching to its choice of song after playing only one from my playlist or chosen album.  This is REALLY ANNOYING!!

Even if an album or playlist has more than 12 songs it still happens.  Is there any way to stop this?  

It's even more disappointing as, prior to this, Spotify was a great app.  Need resolution or unsubscribing may habe to be the solution.

That's wrong. Mine has like 50 songs and it still plays random songs.

Yeah its ridiculous. It basically plays more suggested songs than my actual playlist. The desktop version does not do this......I now remember why I deleted the app...pointless!

Clear cache and delete data through the settings on the app. I only wanted to listen to Kinesthetics' Planetside music and it added random songs from god knows where. Cleared cache and it was only his songs in my playlist.

Scratch that. Dumb app still adds random songs into the playlist. This is getting dumb.

I have a premium account with playlist if 250+ songs and this is still happening to me..... Any closer to a solution? 

If it helps there usually songs I have heard before on spotify just aren't part of the playlist I'm listening to.

I would like to keep a playlist with 3 songs. Is there a way to do so?

I've had this frustrating problem too. I believe if you turn off "autoplay" in the settings it fixes the issue.

hello I am a spotify premium user and when I go to play music in my playlist it plays songs that aren’t even in that playlist (songs I don’t know) I would like to know a solution to this problem since turning off auto play did not help. (and my queue is full of songs that I didn’t add to my playlist)

Try turning on the repeat button, press it once to just repeat the
playlist, not twice to just repeat the song.

This did not work for me. I added songs to make my playlist 12 songs and when I play it on my iPhone, it plays songs that I didn't add in my playlist. HELP!

My problem is it only plays half the songs in my playlist For example if the song is about two minutes it’ll only play about 45 seconds why is that
