My Question or Issue
Since March of this year, the pitch would shift on music when my phone was turned on or off. This past week it’s gotten to a point where this wasn’t a rare occurrence but any time I used Spotify. Just changing apps or opening the keyboard would make the pitch shift down and then back up.
The closest equivalent to what’s happening is that it’s as if someone is messing with the pitch dial on a record player lol. I really hope that makes sense.

Ok so all of a sudden this glitch stopped happening? No clue how it I fixed it, i haven’t reset my phone recently or logged out of spotify.
although i will say this happened to a friend of mine aswell and signing out fixed it for them.
Hi there @collinsdi,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!
Could you try logging out, restarting your device, and logging back in? If that doesn't make any difference, could you let us know if the same happens in any other device where you use the app?
Additionally, can you try logging in to a different account, like a friend's or relative's, on your phone to see if this behavior persists? This will help us determine if it's account or device related.
Keep us posted.
Hey @raneng,
Thanks for reaching out about this.
Could you let us know which troubleshooting steps you've already tried? That way we can avoid any repeating steps.
On another note, would you mind sending us a screen recording of the issue happening so we can take a closer look?
Lastly, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your device would come in handy.
Keep us posted.

We connect our mobile devices via bluetooth to our stereo at work and play Spotify. We take turns with genres and I've noticed pitch changes when my co-workers with Apple iOS play their Spotify playlists. My device is Android (Galaxy S10) and I've never had it happen. I believe it's unique to iOS devices.
Hey @ChaoticAtmosphere ,
Thanks for your reply.
We'd like to gather some additional info.
Would you mind sending us the make/model of the stereo you kindly mentioned?
On another note, it'd be really helpful if you send us a video recording of what you kindly mentioned. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.
Keep us in the loop!
This happened to me with my airpods. But i just took out my airpods and but them back on and it worked.
The same pitch glitches are happening all day three or four times during each and every song, while driving on Bluetooth using Spotify like I am listening to warped old vinyls! Very disturbing... I have a Redmi12c new phone, there is another app running at the same time the whole day...could the other app affect the pitch? Bizarre folks.
Hi there @KerrynP,
Thank you for your reply in this thread.
Even though having another app running in the background shouldn't be an issue, you can close it and check if that makes a difference. We'd suggest you try logging out of Spotify and restarting your mobile device. Once done, check if you still have the same issue.
Additionally, let us know if this only happens while playing Spotify through Bluetooth in your car or if it also happens when just playing music on your phone speakers.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Hello, I’m suffering the same abnormality: the pitch changes slightly in Spotify; very noticeable with solo piano music. I listen with an older headphone and a usb-c to audio cable. I logged out and in (as suggested in this discussion) but doesn’t fix this so far. I use a iPhone 15 pro max. Thanks in advance
Welcome to the thread @AlbertoKG!
Does this only happen when using the headphones with the audio cable or even if you're playing music directly from your phone speakers? Could you also try with a relative's or a friend's account on your iPhone to see if that changes anything?
Keep us in the loop 🙂
Hi should the issue with spotify playing lower/slower pitch continue to not be fixed, i will no longer continue using spotify and move on to apple music, actual most**bleep** service
