Spotify Connect without wifi

Hello everyone!

I'm enjoying my spotify premium account for a couple of month yet and love the spotify connect remote control with my hifi amp at home.

My question is that i'm surprised discovering that i can use my iphone as a remote   even if he's not connected to my wifi home web.

as a confirm i turned off my wifi on both ios and router and ...still works.

Is that normal?

Hello,

Yes that is expected. You don't have to be on the same network to control remote device as long as it is active and logged in with the same account. Waking up devices from the sleep or authenticating new devices however requires to be on the same network.
