Spotify Not Playing On WIFI (Xfinity)

Using Spotify on iPhone X. Lately I noticed that when I switched to WIFI (Xfinity) connection, the Spotify app won't stream. Is this an issue of blocked ports? Did the Spotify developers updated the app to use non standard ports?


I cannot lower my Firewall settings that is not an option or risk I will take just to let the ports open. I hope they use port 80 and any standard open ports.

Yes I’ve also been having that issue lately and sometimes it can happen on an android or iOS and it’s confusing why this is happening just to

(Xfinity) but lately some of my iOS devices have been working with xfinity WiFi But some not and it only happens to certain ones like Nike app, Spotify, App Store, Sonos, and others i think, but not YouTube and some others as well.

it might have to do with location services I think

If Spotify is set as an exception to your firewall settings it should be able to connect to our servers, regardless of the network type. We suggest that you perform a clean reinstall using these steps and then rebooting your device. This is a simple, but often overlooked step. 


If that doesn't fix things, could you let us know if this happens on other devices connected to an Xfinity network and share with us the model and OS of the ones you tried out?
