Since the last iOS update my Spotify has been playing up. Every single 1-2 songs the music just stops playing. I still have a full 4G (50mb/s) connection, and this even happens with tracks I have saved locally (i.e. there's no need to use the connection to stream).
Anyone else having this problem or a fix?!........ Nothing but problems with the iOS app and days away from just cancelling my subscription!
I think I've found the reason for my trouble now.
It isn't the app. It's my Apple headphones. They're the standard ones which come with the iPhone. I tend to use Spotify on my phone as a Walkman, so I'm on the move while listening to it. It seems something's wrong with the headphone cable (exposed copper inside the white sheath, probably) that is causing it provoke random behaviour (such as pause Spotify and activate the phone's voice control). Unsurprisingly, a similar thing happened when using the headphones on my iPod. I changed to another pair of headphones and suddenly, all is right with the world again.
I have the iPhone 6, and as of yesterday 10/31/14, I have the latest updates available from both apple and Spotify. My phone will play two songs, then not continue on to the next until i manually press next, which then skips the third song. This pattern is consistent everytime I play spotify on my iPad 2 (Updated) or my Iphone 6. Additionally, this was also happending on my 4S two months ago while I still had it. I noticed the problem first started for me around 7/4/14 while I was on vacation.
I have read through various Message boards about this problem and feel like I have tried every trick possible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, converted my personal iTunes songs to another format before uploading to Spotify, Shortened the legth of the song titles, changed all my settings back to stock... and still nothing. (Note: this problem happens whether I am playing a playlist that has music from my personal iTunes account or just playing an all Spotify playlist) Additionally, (and inconsitently), it will beging playing a song at a higher volume, then dropping to a lower volume after 2-3 seconds of the song.
Both of these problems were non-existent when I first started with spotify over 2 years ago. Along with other subscribers, I am frustrated to be paying for premium and consistantly having this problem. I know this has been a problem for a while, because I see posts about it from 2013 all over the place. I feel like I have struggled long enough and I too am considering canceling my account with Spotify if this isn't resloved in the next month or so. BTW, don't want to leave, please fix this.
I feel your pain, even till now, everytime Spotify updates I have to logout, delete the app and re-sync all my songs for that error to go away. Spotify programmers are garbage. Mark my words, there will come the day when these people will lose their jobs to someone overseas who is more capable.
having same issue ipod touch 5th gen ios 8.1.3 streamin via bluetooth to speakers.
I was having the same problem playing music on my bluetooth speaker. Music would play for a few seconds then stop. I deleted the app, restarted my iPod, and most other things others have tried. Then I happened to notice that my phone was trying to connect to the speaker as well, so I turned the Bluetooth off on my phone and now I'm free of any playback issues.
Did anyone ever get help with this. I have it happening on all 4 of my devises and this isn't the first time . But can not get help on how to permanently fix this. I am so ready to cancel my account.
