Spotify blocked login on iPad 4 – forces working setup to be useless

I use an iPad 4 with iOS 9.3.6 and a Pioneer DEH-4150SD car radio via USB. This setup worked perfectly: Spotify app → USB cable → radio playback controls. Recently, I had to reinstall the app, and now login is no longer possible. The browser workaround does not help, since iOS 9 Safari no longer supports modern encryption (TLS 1.2/1.3).

Both the iPad and the car radio are still fully functional and were working reliably until Spotify's backend changes. This is not just inconvenient — it's a clear case of forced obsolescence. I don’t want to discard perfectly usable hardware or buy new devices just to play music.

Please consider re-enabling basic login for older app versions or providing a fallback access mode (even limited or offline-only). This would allow responsible users like me to avoid waste and continue using devices that still serve their purpose.

This is not just about convenience — it’s about sustainability and the right to use what we already own.
