My Question or Issue
Whenever I close the Spotify app while playing music it stops working but the the notification is still there when I click on it it takes time to load but it works.
My problem is when I enter the app again it says "No Internet connection is available"
Hi @Mountain246!
Does this occur with Wi-Fi, mobile data or with both? Could you confirm that the app is allowed to access both? You can check that in your Android settings. If you use an SD card, you can try unmounting it and reinstalling Spotify to see if that does the trick.
Lastly, it's worth checking if there are any pending OS updates and installing them.
Let us know how it goes. Cheers!
I only use wifi and my spotify is allowed to use wifi and data, data saver is turned off for the app.
And I don't have my spotify app on an so card as I don't have one but I do have plenty of space for the app to work
I do have the latest update for spotify on my phone
Hey there @Mountain246,
Thanks for your reply.
You mentioned that you're using a stable internet connection, but would you mind giving a different internet connection a go just to check if the same happens?
On another note, does this happen only on your phone or on other devices as well? It'd be helpful if you could check.
Lastly, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
I just tried it with different Internet but it doesn't work but it is from the same router.
This also happens on my tablet and this issue was always there for me.
Hey @Mountain246,
Can you please check the suggestions in this website and let us know if the issue persists?
Thanks!
I just tried it but sadly there are basically no options to change but i have turned adaptive battery off and the "put unused apps to sleep feature" off too.
Hey @Mountain246,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
To continue investigating this case, would you mind checking if the option "Spotify Connect in the background" is turned on? If not, turn it on to see if it makes any difference.
If not, could you record a short video where we can take a better look at the behavior you're mentioning? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
Lastly, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
Spotify version: Version 8.8.80.599
Phone version: android 13

Hey @Mountain246,
Thanks for your reply.
Based on what you mentioned, the issue might be network or account-related.
We understand you already tried with a different internet from the same router, but to rule out that the issue is not related to that specific network, it'd be useful if you could try with a completely different one, such as cellular data or a different WiFi.
On another note, would you mind asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your devices to check if they can replicate this behavior with their account?
Lastly, we'd like to know if this happens only when you're listening through speakers/headphones or if it happens when you're streaming directly on your phone/tablet as well.
We'll be waiting for your reply.
