Spotify iPad-version - Wanted/Missing Features

Solved!

Spotify iPad-version - Wanted/Missing Features

Great that you finally made it! Not a day to late though as iPad have been around since...can't remember! 😉

But...Why on earth have you not at least kept all the features from the iPhone-version???

(I might have missed this but then it is not intuitive enough.)

Volume slider (this is the weird one) --- YOU FINALLY MADE IT!!! (Saw this 2013 Sept 25!!)
Be able to "drill down" on an artist "Now playing" (from a playlist, full view) and from there explore the albums etc. (#1)
Airplay menu in overview mode
Multi gestures (two fingers up or down for volume control)
To be able to search in a playlist (from jespersthlm)
Double tap the fullscreen should brings up the artist overview (same feature like the second from above)
As you have choosed to use the leaf navigation (sliding pages sideways for the hiearchy), dim down the pages in the background so it does not get so messy as everything have the same light grey background color now.
NEW: When you do a offline syncing, the symbol appear in the left side lower corner. It would be great by clicking that symbol takes you to the place where the syncing is happening.
More features requested from users below:

History
Spotify Apps
Jump from song directly to Album
Improved pane navigation
Radio
Customizable tabs
Genres and Top Charts
Easy access to album and artist panes from Now Playing Menu (e.g. like in the desktop app where you click on the artist name) (#3)
Being able to "star" a whole album. (#2)
Swiping through cover arts in the Now Playing panes only starts playing a song when you *let go* of the swype, i.e. to allow you to skip over tracks easily.
View the queue list

SOLUTIONS:

#1 = Tap the full view screen and in the bottom you have a symbol with a bunch of people. That is the one!

#2 = (from user: soho/Spotify-team) It is actually possible to star a whole album. On the album view, just tap the + button and then select Starred in the "Add to Playlist" popover that appears.

#3 = Tapping the artist name in Now Playing will take you to the playing context. So if you're playing from an album, that's where you'll end up. If you're playing from an artist or a playlist, then you will be taken to the artist view or the playlist view. (i.e. same as on desktop)

COMMENTS:

(from user: soho/Spotify-team) We've had a lot of discussions about the context menus you get when long-pressing a track, tapping the small cover art in Now Playing Bar, and also seen at the bottom of the Now Playing view. We wanted to keep them clean and not too confusing, but the discussion is still ongoing and nothing is set in stone, so feedback is always welcome.

Totally appreciate the desire to keep it simple but please can you restore the View album button (the disc icon) to this location? As stands, there is no way to easily find the album for a given track, which is fundamental to how I use Spotify and organise my playlists. It's there on both the iPhone and Android versions.

Failing that, is there anyway to downgrade to the iPhone version? I'm very impressed by the new app—it's a great job—but I'm afraid I really miss this button!

Can the team also include to add other users to the "People" section of the app?  I am able to find a user with the spotify:user:username search, but I cannot add the user to my People page.  I have to do it via the desktop app.

oh please the radio, i realy missed on my iPad and iPhone.

No other feature which open me so many new music.

Hello,

it would be great if we could use the ipad app as if we were using spotify on computer : after all, ipad is replacing computers at home...

The main item missing is concerning the management of playlist : impossible to easily erase a song on ipad for instance.

Awaiting for the updates!

thanks 🙂

First of the volume skip i 5db increments on the iPad when you use the physical buttons, and one of the most impotent things for a GREAT Music experience i to get the volume just right!!

So i suggest a volume slider that is the full length of the screen! Just as when you use the regular iPad Music player the on screen volume controle is Much more precis!!!

And acces to the AirPlay on All the different screenes!!! It is far to difficult to finde and use in general.....

These two hickups aside, thanks for a awesome app! By far one of the best.......

And assuming it Will be fixed in the next Update..... 😉

this is ruining my spotify experience and I'm almost ready to find an alternative way to stream music

Playlist management would be fantastic; moving playlists between folders a must.

Being able to add all songs from one playlist to another would be great, too (like you can with albums).

IMO this would make it full-featured enough to ditch my desktop version altogether.

Hi. Can anyone tell me hw the heck to delete messages from the spotify inbox on the iPad 2 version of spotify mobile!?   I cannot for the life of me find this function, yet it allows me to do so on the iPhone and desktop version of the software.

Ive been trying to get round this for ages now, to no avail.

PLEASE CAN ANYONE ASSIST?

many thanks.

can anyone assist please.

Anyone getting the new "Browse" feature rolled out to their iPads?  I have it on my Android tablet and SII but not my iPad.  Seems silly the feature hasn't been added, especially as every site talking about the new feature says its supposed to be getting it.

FINALLY!!! Software volume control slider on the iPad. Not visually on top of the GUI but still.
Next one?: maybe two fingers gesture up and down in cover mode for adjusting the volume??

See you in one year again. When it happens.

Spotify app for iPad has got to be the most retarded thing they have ever done.

Where is the sense behind having a music library on the iPhone app and then you jump onto your iPad and unable to see your music content.

Playlist are playlists spotify!!!! This is not a music library! EXAMPLE. iPhone app sorts everything into albums/songs/arstists. iPad app just sits there looking at playlists. Nobody cares about playlists and if they do its not inclusive of their whole media library.

Come on sort this out, this is so standard to include this. I would do it for you! Its such a simple fix.

MUSIC LIBRARY ON IPAD APP PLEASE.

I deleted all my playlists on spotify app for iPhone and saved everything into the music library, then i turn on my iPad and nothing! Brilliant!

And yes before you tell me I can recover deleted playlists, I am well aware. Its not the point. Sort it out spotify!

So the delivery of the message above is pretty crass but I totally agree with the sentiment. Some of us use our tablets as our main device so it makes sense to have all the features available on the phone and PC also on the tablet.

Unfortunately, I would say Your Music on iPad could be some time in the future, given the application has fallen a little behind:
- No Discover
- No Dark design
- No Your Music
- No redesigned search (iPhone)

Hi I love spotify but I believe that the iPad app needs a little work. What i would like is to be able to have the option the phone version supplies, the "your music". I want to liste to the music I have saved on spotify not just playlists. Also it would be extremely helpful if you guys could add to all spotify apps a sleep timer, the app no longer corresponds to the "stop playing" function from the clock app already in all apple products. So it would be a life saver and battery saver if you guys could add a sleep timer as well. Thank you

Finally this problem is now sorted!

Why oh Why have you guys removed the option of sorting songs in a playlist?

That was the best thing with the old version, I could do something I couldn't do in the iphone version..

It's so annoying.

When I add 5-10-20 new songs to a playlist, I want to play them then continue with the latest added songs, I could do this before the update, and now I can't.
