Spotify keeps pausing repeatedly

When I use Spotify on the iPhone 6s, through Bluetooth in my car (while it is plugged into charge), it continuously pauses and plays itself for 5 seconds and then pauses and plays for 5 seconds until eventually just pausing and stops playing altogether. I’ve tried closing all apps including restarting Spotify. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth. The only thing that makes it work is when I leave it unplugged, but I would like to have the option to charge it while listening to music. Any advice would be great!
