After pairing my AirPods, and pressing play (Spotify is already open) a song will start and then immediately stop again. Nothing has been touched - not the AirPods, not the iPhone. I do have Spotify open on my Mac as well, but the primary device for playback is the iPhone.
This usually happens when I first pair the AirPods but it has also randomly happened during playback if the device has been playing back for 10+ minutes. The bluetooth connection for the AirPods has not dropped. This is a Spotify problem.
Anyone else see this?

Hey @larissakitty, thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a clean reinstall of the app following these steps.
If you're still having trouble, let me know what device this happens on, as well as the current software version. Also, let me know what AirPods model you have.
Let me know how this goes!
I tried restarting the device and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. This is still happening (sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I was waiting to see if it happened again after re-installing)
Device: iPhone 11 Pro
OS: iOS 14.2
Spotify version: 8.5.78.928
AirPods: A2031 version 3A283 (there are 2 pairs of these)
I also have a MacBook Pro 2018 running macOS Big Sur: 20A5384c
Big Sur does change the way AirPods operate when they have been paired with multiple devices; however, this happens even when I turn off bluetooth on the Mac so the only available connection would be my iPhone.
Hey @larissakitty,
Thanks for letting me know! If possible, do you have a friend that has a Mac running macOS Catalina to log in and see if the issue happens on that device?
If not, let me know if this happens on your phone itself or if it's just the Mac.
Keep me posted.
Hey @larissakitty,
Thanks for keeping me posted about this! I'm happy to hear everything is good to go. If you need help in the future, you can always start a new topic and the Community will be happy to help.
Have a great day!
iOS 14.7.1, iphone 12. Spotify ver 8.6.60.1313. There is on VPN
I have tried all the methods (uninstall, logout etc) however I am unable to play songs more than 10 secs.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Hey @FRMSGP,
Thanks for the post.
Can you clarify if this is happening only when you have Airpods connected to your phone?
Also, does this happen on other devices you use?
We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
Hi @FRMSGP,
Thank you for your reply and confirmation.
Can you try turning of your VPN to see if the issue persists?
Also - can you confirm that you followed the steps that's provided in this article? There's some more steps to help thoroughly uninstall the app from your phone so if you haven't, we'd highly suggest it since the steps will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Take care!
