Unable to play group session on any other device than iPhone

Device: iPhone Xs

Operating System: iOS 13.5.1

When my friend creates a group session. I join and select “listen on my device” it starts playing on my iPhone. Yet when I select a speaker, it says “Connecting” and then nothing. Continues to play on my iPhone only.

I tried starting off playing my music on a speaker but then when I join the session it doesn’t play any of the queued music.

Could you tell us what kind of speaker you are using? Is it a smart speaker that you connect to through Spotify Connect or a normal Bluetooth speaker.
