My Question or Issue
I'm looking for the list of all songs of an artist, on iOS. I know when you search an artist, you can scroll down to "See all artists," "See all songs," "See all playlists," etc. Clicking on “See all songs” kind of works, but it’s still inefficient.
What I'm looking for is to view all songs from the artist's page. I know you can click on “See Discography” and it’ll bring you to all their albums. Problem with that is if you don’t know what album the song you want is on, you have to go through each one until you find it (inefficient). Is there a way that you can be on the artist’s page and view a literal list of all their songs? If not, there should be. You should be able to order the list by date, album, popularity, alphabetical order, whatever.
The closest thing I can find to this is on the desktop app where you can show the albums and all their songs in a list.
I’ve only had Spotify for a month or so and haven’t used it much on my phone, but the more I use it, the more I hate how inefficient and illogical it is.
All the work around and excuses from Spotify baffle me. How hard is it to search artist name and then filter all songs that match that artist and order by number of plays on the song. It's like day 1 SQL exercises
Too much pride to be held by those PDMs/PMs.. 🤦🏿♂️
Why is this still not available?
Yes you can "view" their discography but you cannot then play then in a list. We want a way to see and play all songs by an artist. Basically for it to work like an artist playlist.
Discography isn't helpful. I have no idea what album a song is on, are we supposed to go to some third-party site to find the list of songs, then come back to Spotify when we know the album? I'd rather just use a different service that doesn't make me jump through hoops.
If you'd taken the time to read the original post, you would know that what you've described is exactly what they said was not what they were looking for. They (and many, many other people) want the ability to view a list of all the songs by an artist without clicking through all the albums one at a time. I, for instance, just am coming from YouTube music and am trying to set up my playlists. Right now I'm working on Sufjan Stevens, and he's got a huge number of albums that will take forever to go through one at a time. It would be so much faster to be able to just scroll through a list and select all the songs I like. It's extremely frustrating to not have basic management tools like this. It seems that Spotify must have an agenda to drive listening behavior towards a small set of songs!
This is how consumers are herded. The longer it takes you to do what you want to do the longer you can be subjected to see the things they want you to see. Just like when Google took out the discussion filter that allowed you to only see results that were discussions between people. Now doing a search in Google is like walking down the street in Vegas and getting these cards of naked women you don't want to see shoved in your face.
This is a terrible solution and overly smug at that
Hi all,
I’ve found a way of doing this on iOS by going to the artist page, clicking the ellipsis (…) next to “Follow” and selecting “Start a Jam”.
This doesn’t order the Jam by release or date, but does play every song for that artist.
It's 2024 and we still don't have this basic feature
This doesn’t work on the iPhone app.
Still not working on Android. Soo annoying, holy ...
Is there any business or statistical reason they don't want us to shuffle a full discography?
Like this post if you will stop using this app if this doesn't show up by the end of the year.
2025 and still a issue. That’s crazy loco. All these users and no one is flooding this page.
Yep still a problem, this is actual insanity at this point. The amount of less important sections on an artist profile page and yet no section for what really matters, an easy to find paginated list of sorted tracks.
I dont want a list of albums, just songs, not albums, its sooo frustrating to use ugh.
second half of 2025 and this is still not possible. Spotify, you suck.
