Whats up with the new home screen being random playlist? Its really bad, can I change it back?
This is ridiculous isn't it? I literally can't find anything. Could you change the title of your post to New / Updated Homepage do you think as that's what I searched for... there must be other posts echoing this - it's the biggest disaster ever!
Not being able to find "Daily Mixes" "Recently Played" or even just discover weekly is a disaster of epic proportions. I only received the update today (Feb 23)
the new home screen shows me just one playlist at a time.
the old home screen showed me 4 rows/groups of playlists with plenty of playlists of which at least 3 where directly visible.
So it not only showed 12 playlists at a time, it also made it possible to navigate between different groups of playlists.
how can a UI that shows 1 playlist at a time be better that one that shows 12 playlists at a time, if the goal is: Find the right playlist for the right moment.
I don't use spotify for videos or album covers. I listen to music. I don't want to scroll forever.
Just give an option to people, so they can choose according to their preference, this way you can test, what people prefer and design our app accordingly.
Agreed. There used to be twenty things I could do from the home screen to find just the right music for my mood. Now I have to scroll through things one at a time... just awful. Please revert back to the old home screen.

My user interface just changed because Spotify is testing it out a few users at a time. Home Screen has changed to a scroll where only one podcast, song, or playlist is listed on my screen at one time. The scroll is endless and none of the option match what I actually listen to- they are podcasts I listened to once and disliked, a song a friends suggested but isn't my jam. But the biggest problem is that these suggestions take up the WHOLE SCREEN, one at a time. I can no longer just easily select what I was literally just listening to. I have defaulted to using the "Search" function to specifically bring up playlists and podcasts I listen to all the time.

I agree, this update to the home screen/UI is so frustrating. I really enjoyed the "jump back in" feature. I don't use Spotify for podcasts and now have to death scroll to find the music I'm looking for and what was previously simple to find. I think the decision to change the home screen was bad decision. I'm also going to consider another service.
Please give users the option to restore the previous home screen. Thanks!
This new change sucks. Why change my layout without my consent? I don’t want to be part of a beta test, I didn’t sign up for that. Maybe I’ll switch to a different music service.
Any word on whether they’ll be changing this back?? It’s so awful and makes it impossible to use the app!
New home screen again. This time showing full screen of individual recommended album have to scroll down through instead of compressed access to mixes/playlists etc. Looks like it's trying to mimic scrolling down instagram, impossible to jump into. How can we change back?

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve recommended Spotify to friends for years and I will be canceling my subscription if it’s not changed back.
I have this very same issue and am incredibly frustrated with it. I hope that Spotify reverts this change as quickly as possible. The only thing which makes this new page tolerable is that I can see my six recommended playlists at the top.
The Home Screen is unusable. I am a paying customer for a family account but my other accounts are not in this test. How do I get my account out of it? I cannot use the app anymore!
Hard to find the words to express how much I hate this new home screen on iphone. I am HIGH volume user - measured in hours in the year, I spent about 1/10 of 2022 on Spotify. I'm guessing that puts me in the .01%. I listen it to all day working when I'm not on calls.
I thought this issue had to be a bug - not kidding, I spent 3.5 hours today on their "customer service" function trying to solve only to learn they did this on purpose.
What's so bad about it? For years, using this service's home page was like exploring the universe with abandon via the hundreds of easily navigable thumbnails on the home page (not perfect, but certainly good enough); then, three days ago, they put me in a cul-de-sac. If I scroll for 2 minutes, with each vertical swipe (nor more horizontal swiping at all) presenting a single album taking up my entire screen, I might (might) find one album I haven't listened to in the last six months. But there's nothing new there. I'm stuck in Spotify's idea of the "me" section of the record store - only it's a tremendously limiting/insulting version of "me." The arrogance and the idiocy of the new UI are breathtaking. Give me back choice.
I think this test/trial is for high volume users. I use Spotify a lot more than my partner, friends, and family and none of them have this new TikTok style interface and none were in the similar trial of large tiles last year. Spotify has targeted us because they think we are loyal and will stick around while they test new interfaces on us. No representative from Spotify has addressed us in this thread. I'm at the point where I will have to end my subscription again (like I did with last year's trial). I won't be back for another time.
Spotify - it's really simple: confine this new interface to when the user selects the 'Music' or 'Podcast & Shows' tabs at the top (which is what happened to the big tiles) and restore the main home screen to how it was before. Alternatively, give us an option to opt in/out of the new interface in otions. Who knows - some users might prefer it, but at least give us options.
