I can’t believe they chance the Home Screen. I’ve talked to Spotify support. And they just say, there is nothing we can do. Only option is to cancel my subscription.

New UI update with these giant ridiculous cards is unusable. Stop testing updates on users who already show strong engagement with the current features that you’ll be removing.

This newest “update” is literally evil. How am I supposed to drive or quickly choose a song while I am at work with these GIGANTIC HUGE USELESS Album covers and podcast artwork that take up the ENTIRE screen? I now have to scroll endlessly for no reason…. Just photo after photo of bands I don’t know and playlists I’m not interested in. Apparently Spotify is no longer a music app; It is a “view album artwork” app for iPhone. I hate this, it makes me so frustrated I want to scream. I can’t find any of my music, I don’t know where my favorite songs are, I’ve been sitting in my driveway for ten minutes trying to change it back because I feel devastated. Please I am begging you to change it back and actually listen to us. We simply asked to customize our Home Screen and minimize podcast suggestions and you gave us this garbage? I will be forced to cancel if it stays like this because I listen ti music while working and driving- this app is now extremely dangerous with all the scrolling. There is one album cover on the entire screen now.

Absolutely hate the new lay out.  it feels like I was reading a college text book and someone just handed me a “See Jane run” early reader.  How can i even do anything now? 😮😭😭😭😭🤮

Hi, just sharing that I too just got this update and greatly dislike it. Please strongly consider reverting back to the original UI.

Horrible, horrible update! I've listened to like 2 podcasts in the last 2 years but most of the suggestions are now podcasts???. What happened to the music? Out of 37 tiles only 7 are music! How does that make sense?? Where are the music suggestions? Where are the daily mixes? 

I've seen a lot of crappy updates but this is one of the worst ones on any app. It's literally USELESS!

New UI is also terribly laggy and jittery. Like did any of your team actually test this on real devices? I am appalled that people are getting paid their 6 figure salaries to create such terrible user experiences. 

This is a music app. Not a photos app. I don’t want an endless scroll of giant graphics.

Spotify, is this a joke? It has to be… This is my homepage. I don’t listen to podcasts on Spotify. Why is this being forced so hard? This takes up my entire screen. I’m here for MUSIC. I don’t want to have to click a filter to take me to another page with a horrible layout of songs I’m not interested in. Bring back my recently played list with horizontal scrolling PLEASE. This UI is atrocious.

EDIT: Adding this here, I contacted support and requested to convert back to the old version I had. A day later I logged out and back in to see the changes. I no longer have this nightmare of a UI! Hallelujah.

Hopefully, for those dealing with the new, shitty UI, it will revert back to something usable in a few weeks, like it did for some of the others in this thread, myself included.

In the meantime, the only recourse we have is to light up Spotify's Support team.  It may feel wrong to do, but that is the only path Spotify allows--it's the only way to give feedback other than this thread which they are obviously not paying much attention to.

If you reach out to Support, do everything you can to get your case escalated.  Get angry.  Keep asking questions and stress how much you hate this change and especially hate that most other users have a better UI.  For Spotify to care it needs to affect their Support metrics.  That way Support can make the argument to engineering (they call this "the tech team") that the shitty new UI is causing friction with customers.  It's unfortunate, but I think it's the only way for these complaints to reach the team that makes these decisions.

Hi, this is a totally unworkable redesign and I can’t fathom who agreed it made anything ‘better’. I pay for Spotify so I can listen to music I want easily, not battle my way through rubbish suggestions or podcasts. I don’t want podcasts on Spotify, just go away. Please give the old one UI back.

I don't know how but i now have the classic ui. Finally

I cancelled my subscription and made it very clear on the reason why that it was because of having this useless UI forced upon me. I also included the link back to this entire thread. 

The very next day my UI reverted back to the regular style. 

However, I've now signed up to and am enjoying Tidal. Until Spotify communicates as to what is going on and/or apologises there's no way on earth I'm reigniting my subscription.
