What's up with this new Home screen?

I spent an hour yesterday with customer service, and the app is still this shitty.  I can't believe I'm paying for this **bleep**.  It's time to ditch this, I'm going to Apple Music.

This is by far the worst Update on any App I ever had. What is wrong with the UX-Designers at Spotify?

You changed up my Home interface.

Suddenly it's a row of gigantic screen-wide tiles that I have to scroll down thru.  

No left/right scrolling.  No categories.  I don't know why you're putting these albums on here.

I tried to play some music last night, and I burned my dinner b/c I couldn't figure out what the F was going on with the app.

I've even shown my 16 and 18 year old kids and they can't figure it out.

I'm going to delete my account if you don't put it back.

I'm super **bleep** off.

I've already been through the process with your Spotify Cares folks. All of my devices/app are up to date. Please correct this problem.

Hello! Ive gone on a hunt to learn how to make my voice heard! I definitely agree with others who are upset about the new home page! Its restrictive and we should have options to turn it off or make the tiles smaller. Its not about disliking change - its about what is user friendly and efficient! One tile taking up my entire screen is unacceptable!

Why has my home screen UI changed to this TikTok style layout? The old home page was a lot more intuitive and you could get to what you wanted to listen to very quickly, why change it? Considering switching to apple music now : /

I've got the same layout as of today - can't find anything because the entire screen is taken up by a giant image of a podcast I listened to once 4 years ago. Scrolling through takes forever because it doesn't scroll so much as swipe from one massive image to the next. Terrible design, whoever came up with it needs to be fired (I'm not joking, they're bad at their job - this isn't a social media app, it's supposed to be a library).

Spotify. This new UI sucks. You have bricked the app with this new look, roll it back for all the users.  There was NOTHING wrong with the UI and you’re wasting our money to invest in “Improvements” that are otherwise unnecessary.  If this persists, I will go with Apple Music.

same!! it’s HORRIBLE, i can’t find any of my “made for you” or daily mixes or anything. completely unnavigable and has taken away some of my favorite features

well said! i completely agree, it’s not user friendly at all. every app is trying so hard to look like tiktok, but that doesn’t work for a music library

I am having the same issue - replying to bring more attention to this so hopefully spotify will rectify this.

The change is quite ridiculous, icons are at least more than 2 times the size of how they were in the previous home page - making scrolling so tedious.

I value the ability to look at things from a distance, see things like reccomended artists, playlists, new releases at a glance and to be able to scroll through them easily. All of this is made impossible by the current design, and spotify support has neglected to help revert. Even if people like this, removing functionality and not giving the option to retain the old features is a massive oversight. Please fix this, ASAP.

Yes I am having the same problem it changed all the sudden how do we go back to the view I had the other day? Hope there is a fox for this cause it is horrible!!!

Dude, I couldn’t agree more. They have absolutely ruined the user experience. It’s F**KED. I just got a trial on YT music to see what it’s like. It seems quite good. For mine Spotify have 3 weeks to revert their changes or I’m off. Vote with your wallet man.

Completely agree. The new update has rendered the Home Screen useless in my opinion. As it is a form of discovering new music and going through albums that may be of interest or prior albums listened to. It’s not some social media app where I can watch someone’s album cover and music as a reel.

100% agree, have already asked what’s up to customer support and developer lead me here and also agreed on the manner also having stated they left a complaint and brought it to the teams attention of the complaints regarding Home Screen. Hoping to see chnage very quickly but otherwise this new Home Screen absolutely sucks

Changes Im proposing to make it suck less: 

-give option to hide stuff from home page 

-give option to turn off video loops (current settings only works for standard albums and not whats shown on the home screen) 

-give option to see it in list or tile form (like our library's) 

-give homepage a 24hr or week shuffle option like our “made for you” playlists. If your trying to help us “discover new music” why has my home page not changed in at least 24hrs. And how do you know what to show me if there is no dislike button for me to interact with?
