Won’t play after pausing

When using headphones and pausing for more than a couple minutes I go to unpause my music for it to play for a split second and then pause again. It won’t play again unless I take my phone out and hit play on there. It’s very inconvenient when I’m at work and have to take my phone out after pausing music to talk to a co worker.

Let's see what's going on. 

First, could you let me know what iPhone model you have as well as the iOS version (you can find this info by going to Settings > General > About), and what kind of headphones you are using when this happens? 

Also, could you try restarting your iPhone? If the issue persists, try a clean reinstall of the app following the steps in this Spotify Answer.
