iOS 16 Public Beta 3
My Issue
While I understand that this might be caused by the iOS 16 Public Beta, and may be addressed in future app update: every time I connect to Spotify Connect on my Yamaha RX-V477 the Spotify app keeps lowering the volume in smaller increments until it reaches a low level. It keeps lowering the volume even if I raise it to a higher level. If I raise the volume and quit the app the music keeps playing as it should without lowering the volume.
Due to this I have resorted to starting music with the Spotify app, connecting to the receiver, quitting the Spotify app, launching Yamaha’s controller app and controlling the volume there.
Issue not present when using Spotify Connect with a Sonos One SL at workplace.
Anyone else having a similar issue?
Same issue here with Spotify connect over Sonos speakers. If the app is open on my phone it keeps re-setting the volume that I change though either the physical buttons or using the sonos app. It even blinks the little volume gauge on the screen of my iphone every ~2sec. If I close the spotify app on the phone, volume controle works as expected.
Hi MihailY @spotify, any ETA for solving volume-lowering issues? It makes me sad every morning 😞
Damnit Spotify, how is this issue still existing??
This is because there is still no proper thread for the issue. This thread is about iOS 16 BETA, so that's normal that things may not all work properly.
Anyway - from the beginning of iOS 16 (NOT BETA but regular iOS) there was no Spotify App update. Current app is still iOS 15 app, isn't it?
Hey everyone,
Thanks for sharing your feedback and sending over the requested details.
Unfortunately, we can't give you an ETA of when this will be resolved, but we can confirm that the issue has been identified and is currently being worked on.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation and we're here for you if there's anything else.
Hello Guys, this malfunction still exists here from the very beginning of iOS 16 ie mid September. Good to know that the issue has been identified but please - how long can this last from that point?
Anyway - since the beginning of the iOS 16 I haven't seen any update to the Spotify iOS app. During iOS 15 there was new update like every few days - iOS 16 - stalemate with updating Spotify app.
Is it only me to see no updates?
Same problem on iphone 13 (ios16.1), very annoying that i cant change the volume on my audiolab amp because my spotify is turning my volume changes back.. and the constantly popping up volume controls.. aaaargh.. it was working properly on my ipad, but stupidly i updated this to the new ipad OS and same problem 😞
regards Bas
Same issue here. iPhone SE (2020) with latest iOS (16.1). Connecting with my Onkyo receiver was always working fine, but since iOS 16 my volume control keeps on popping up on my screen every 3 seconds which makes Spotify Connect almost impossible to use. I use this feature everyday, so it is very annoying. A fix would be great!! 🙂
Same issue here with Yamaha RX-V477 receiver.
This is 6 weeks already with the issue, iOS 16.1 is now and still no Spotify app update. Seems they are sleeping there at Spotify team...
Just upgraded the Spotify iOS app to the new version today and.
This is all the same...
Nothing changed. There is still the same problem with volume control using Spotify connect on certain Spotify connect devices.
Time to switch do Apple Music instead as this doesn't make sense to bother with Spotify app anymore.
I have exactly the same problem! When do we get this fixed, spotify?? Annoying…
Hi Everybody,
there seems to be a solution:
i got ios16.1 and it works!
the volume bar is still flickering, but no volume change anymore.
try it also
regards
Eugene
Nope.
I have iOS 16.1.1 here already and volume pops out and keeps lowering exactly as it was with iOS 16.0.
Hey, Spotify guys - are you there?
Same here - no change with iOS 16.1.1. The issue is still there. Any update from your side, Spotify team?
Same issue here. Yamaha RX-V477, iPhone XS, iOS 16.1.1.
Music will be playing perfectly on the receiver while app is not open on phone. Open the app on the phone, and it starts lowering the volume on the receiver.
I have the same issue but slightly different. As soon as I connect to Spotify connect. The volume widget in iOS (left of screen), keeps popping up every second. This also appears when I open up Spotify on my iOS. That the same behavior is seen in the volume widget ui within Spotify. This is quite an annoying bug. because I’d sometimes blocks ui elements in the browser or other apps.
Today fresh update to the spotifuggle iOS app ver. 8.7.82.107 and volume is popping exactly like two months ago with the beginning of iOS 16.
I can say I can't understand what's going on there.
