My Issue
While I understand that this might be caused by the iOS 16 Public Beta, and may be addressed in future app update: every time I connect to Spotify Connect on my Yamaha RX-V477 the Spotify app keeps lowering the volume in smaller increments until it reaches a low level. It keeps lowering the volume even if I raise it to a higher level. If I raise the volume and quit the app the music keeps playing as it should without lowering the volume.
Due to this I have resorted to starting music with the Spotify app, connecting to the receiver, quitting the Spotify app, launching Yamaha’s controller app and controlling the volume there.
Issue not present when using Spotify Connect with a Sonos One SL at workplace.
Anyone else having a similar issue?
Deleting and reinstalling the app solved the problem with streaming services. It worked for me
This appears to be working fine for me now.
I tried this yesterday and the volume isn’t being readjusted by the iOS app as it was since iOS 16.
Possible they made a backend change of some sort, or maybe it’s been working since the 12th November app update.
Would love to know if others can confirm from their side too.
Hey, now it works fine for me. It was not right from the beginning after update of the app to the current version. It was probably that I re-logged in to my home WiFi and then there was prompt to grant permission for the app to look for local network devices. Now it seems OK for me at home and also at my office.
Updated the app. Everything is working fine now! That’s great!
Thank you!
There is stil mess while we have more than one iPhone/iPad here with the Spotify premium family plan.
My wife's phone is on Spotify connect to our Onkyo and then my iPhone gets in and volume control of the Onkyo from the iPhone stop working.
But for sure there seems to be no more volume pop-ups neither volume fight between Onkyo and iPhone as it used to be.
