My Question or Issue

Since a few weeks I am from time to time get popups inside the iOS app (see enclosed screenshots) which distract my flow in usage (e.g. while scrolling through a playlist). Worst thing is, that closing this popup brings me on top of the playlist again so I need to scroll all the way down again.
None of the popups was relevant and customer service confirmed there is no option to disable such popups in contrast to disabling app-push-messages.
So my urgent request is to add an option to disable such popups.
Additionally product management needs to make sure it's not breaking flow in usage of the app. Usually someone would implement such feature when returning to home screen or alike but not in the middle of scrolling through a playlist.

I deleted Spotify from my iPhone because of this issue

This thread is so depressing. I've had spotify for years. I just want to have ZERO ads. I do not care that you call it something else and now out of nowhere I'm getting them daily.

What even is this response my god actually implement some help for your **bleep** customers. a closed web for an actual issue is insane, get a life spotify. Do f**** better i almost snapped my wrist today because of a stupid stupid f you wanna share every time i screenshot? what is WITH YOU

could not agree more this is actually criminal now

The complete screen take overs seem to be gone (dare I jinx it?), but the banner "not-ads" continue.

One ruined my birthday surprise. It was months in the planning and all I knew was the date I should keep blocked off, but then one of the banners ads for a concert came up a couple weeks before the big day and I realized the date was the same.... I felt so bad for my husband I didn't say anything 😞 It is nearly impossible to surprise me with anything, and he was actually pulling it off. Oh well.

It is worth noting too that I have NEVER in my life bought a concert ticket. Despite my love for music, I only go see artists live when someone I know invites me. So these "not-ads" will never get a penny out of me. So the only thing they will ever accomplish is ruining my day.

I've finally caved. After 12+ years of loyally paying for Spotify, and a solid decade of advocating for them, I am looking else where.

I'm heart broken. I truly loved it here, but it seems like they no longer care about music or listeners now that they've hit it big. I am sorry for my role in growing it now 😞 Once I find my new music home  I'll be converting all my friends and family again apparently.

So far Tidal looks promising. Their live feature is actually a unique idea (unlike the recent trash coming out of here), so maybe they actually care about innovation.
