Premium plan. iOS 18.6.2

Everytime I open Spotify, the sidebar disappears. I have to rotate my iPad vertical, then horizaontal to make it come back. Did a hard uninstall, restarted iPad, reinstalled, same issue. This is a PITA

Hey there @12130647605

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community!

First up, we recommend logging out and then logging back in to your account twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between your account and device. If the issue persists, you mentioned that you tried reinstalling the app, but could you check if you've followed these specific steps to do so?

On another note, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update either of Spotify or the OS of your device.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

I followed all your instructions, including the full reinstall and it’s still doing it. My iPad updated last night to 18.7.7. I cannot remember when it started doing it.

Hey @12130647605,

Thanks for your reply and testing this out!

Could you let us know if this happens as soon as you launch the app or when you play something? Are you using Spotify Connect when the issue occurs? If you can consistently reproduce this behavior, it'd be great if you can share the exact steps to do so and we can check on our end.

Keep us posted.

When I first start the app, the sidebar is fine in horizontal mode. If I switch to another app, when I got back to Spotify the sidebar is gone like in the original photo. This happens when I’m also in vertical mode: returning to the app makes sidebar disappear. Rotating my iPad gets it back, but only temporarily. Is there a way yall can roll back that update?

Hey @12130647605,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.

To continue investigating this, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

Also, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running.

We'll be on the lookout.

Thanks for the response and info @12130647605.

It seems that there's another user experiencing this issue on iPad in another thread and we might need to report this internally. I understand that you've already given Spotify a reinstall, but would you mind giving the suggested steps by @CryticalAce in this post a try and let us know if the behavior changes? Make sure to also send us the exact iPad model that you're using.

Many thanks and we'll be on the lookout!

I tried that method, no joy. And after reading the quoted thread, I’ve had the same “rubber band” effect on the track time as well, but it’s random. The disappearing sidebar happens every time. My iPad is “10th gen”

Thanks for the additional info, @12130647605.

A new version of Spotify should be out now. Would you mind updating the app to see if the issue persists?

Let us know how it goes 👍
