Basic plans Users are getting ads

We've received some reports about Basic plans users who noticed they're getting ads and their accounts appear as Free on the mobile app, but the account overview does show they're Premium. We're currently investigating this behavior.

My Question or Issue

I have been enjoying a paid individual ad-free subscription for a few years now, and today I got an ad between songs.  Why? Isn't ad-free listening what we're paying for?

My Question or Issue

Started playing music today and I have ads and no control over my Playlists. I also got a new button on the bottom of my app called Premium. However when looking at my account it shows payment was successful and that I am still in basic family plan. I am the owner of the plan so I'm not sure why this is occuring

No insight, just coming to say the same thing happened for me! With a Family Plan.  Did Spotify change their plans without notifying us??????

I am having exactly the same issue, this is VERY EXPLICITLY an advertisement interrupting regular music in a regular playlist, first time I have ever had this happen in the 12 years I have used Spotify, and all it took was two stupid commercials and I now despise and loathe Spotify as a company and have spent the last hour researching alternatives that will allow me to keep my playlists. Way to completely alienate your most loyal customers and screw the few people left who actually liked your product. WOULD SOMEONE AT SPOTIFY PLEASE GO TO SCHOOL TO STUDY A FOUR YEAR COURSE IN HOW TO NOT ANGER YOUR MOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS.

I’m having the same issue with my basic family plan. Despite it showing I should not have ads, we suddenly do today.

My Question or Issue

I've been paying for spotify for at least a decade. I've always had a basic family plan. My wife started getting ads inbetween songs on her account, I checked my account and sure enough I'm getting ads too. 

We shouldn't be getting ads on music for a basic family plan. 
I have checked my Spotify account on the web and I can confirm that it says my subscription level is Basic Family, despite this, the iOS and Desktop app are showing me as though I have a free account. 

I have tried logging out and back in but it did not fix the issue.

Same issue for me, I have been paying for a Duo subscription for about 5 years and all of the sudden this morning I am now seeing ads on the app and hearing ads in between songs. What is happening? How am I getting advertisements on a paid membership?

Signed in today to see that they kicked me off of basic individual and the only option is now premium individual. It**bleep** because I don't listen to audiobooks or podcasts, and now I have to pay for things I won't ever use.
