Smart Shuffle feature missing on playlists

We're seeing reports from users who are not seeing the Smart Shuffle option in their playlists.

My Smart Shuffle option on my Windows app just disappeared.  How can I get it back?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome. 

We tested this one on our end, but the Smart Shuffle option is working properly on the desktop app. Keep in mind that this option is only available if you're listening to a playlist or your Liked songs. If you're playing an album or a track from a search result, the button will only change the shuffle between On and Off.

If you're playing playlists or your Liked songs and the option is not available, we'd recommend logging out from your account and logging in twice to force the sync between your account and your laptop.

Lastly, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This step is frequently ignored, but it can assist in eliminating any cache that may be causing issues.

Same issue. Complete reinstall does not fix it.

My custom playlist, Premium subscription, Windows 11 app. Shuffle only toggles between on and off, off and on. There is no third option for Smart Shuffle. If I turn it on from the mobile version, it will load the Smart Shuffle icon on the windows app version, and then immediately revert it to the normal shuffle when I click Play. Please help.

Make sure you've gone over the troubleshooting steps listed in @Susan_GP's reply. In case your issue persists after, let us know the following details:

• Your device's make & model
• Its OS version
• Your Spotify app version
• The estimated date & time when this has begun
• If this behaviour has first appeared after an app/ OS update

Actually happened after clean reinstall a week ago. Cleared cache and data and reinstalled again and toggled off and on the setting but no luck. Smart shuffle is fully gone

I am having the opposite problem. The smart shuffle shows up on windows desktop app but it no longer shows up on the android mobile app even with the option for it turned on in settings. It just goes between normal shuffle mode on and off even after toggling the "Include Smart Shuffle in play modes" off and on again, logging out and back in, doing data/cache clear as well as full reinstall.

- Exact Spotify version

You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

Additionaly found that creating a new playlist allows for smart shuffle, however playlists that were around before one of the updates (not sure when it started), including the default Liked Songs list are not allowing smart shuffle on the app.
