iPad app does not scrobble plays of local files

I'm a Premium subscriber.

1. In Spotify PC app, I make a playlist with local files.

2. In Spoify on iPad, I sync the playlist.

3. In Spotify on iPad, I play a file from the playlist.

4. Play does not scrobble to last.fm. (Also not after a delay.)

Connection to Last.fm is correctly set up; plays of non-local (i.e. streamed) tracks through the Spotify Ipad app do scrobble immediately and without exception..

So it seems that plays from local files do not scrobble. Is that correct?

If so that would be disastrous. I own a lot of music that is not available on Spotify. It is important for me to be able to play *and* scrobble that music. It shouldn't be too difficult to enable scrobbling for local files on iPad - or?
